WatchGuard Technologies has announced the opening of a new office for the Middle East region in Dubai Internet City and appointed John Spoor as its new regional manager for the Middle East business.
The network and content security solutions provider has identified the Middle East as a key growth market for the company and has invested in marketing and training programmes to help support and expand its channel presence in the region.
Richard Barber, chief financial officer at WatchGuard Technologies, said: “The growth we’ve experienced over the last few months makes it evident that more customers are looking to WatchGuard to safeguard their networks against today’s blended threats.
“We have completely revamped our core product offering in just over a year and there is more to come.”
Spoor previously operated as regional director for GFI Software and brings more than seven years’ experience working in the Middle East and Africa region.
“Enabling our channel partners and providing them all the necessary tools and support will be a key focus for us for the coming months,” said Spoor.
“The new office will allow us to be closer to our channel partners and their customers, as well as give us a stronger local presence that will ultimately infuse confidence throughout the whole channel ecosystem.”
