The National Security Inspectorate (NSI) has announced the appointment of Richard Jenkins as the company’s interim Chief Executive, with effect from Tuesday 4 March. Richard succeeds Jeff Little OBE, who resigned from the post of Chief Executive, which he had held for three years.

Richard is a change management specialist coming from a general business background including the engineering and vehicle industries. With over 20 years’ experience, Richard’s expertise includes business reorganisation, supply chain integration, process design and customer focussed strategic development.  His most recent role was with IKEA Ltd where he developed and implemented IKEA’s auto enrolment pension scheme strategy and led the work launching their UK internet and home shopping delivery service and continuous improvement programme.

Commenting on his appointment, Richard stated, “NSI has a reputation second to none within the security and fire sectors and I am privileged to have this opportunity by the Board to take NSI forward.  I am particularly keen for us to continue to focus closely on our customers’ needs and stakeholder interests. It is evident to me that NSI employs high calibre individuals with extensive knowledge and expertise in the industry, who deliver the real value of the NSI brand every day.”

Chris Hanks, NSI Chairman commented “Richard brings with him a wealth of experience and I am delighted that he has joined NSI for the next step of its development. Richard will bring a new perspective to NSI and will ensure the company is fully equipped for the future.”
