MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.  — Based on its recent analysis of the perimeter intrusion detection systems market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Optex Inc. with the 2010 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Market Penetration Leadership of the Year. The company leverages over 30 years of deploying security systems across the globe in every conceivable climatic condition to provide clients a broad portfolio of unique products; designed and used to protect highly sensitive installations.

“With the North American market moving to outdoor protection solutions, there are ample growth opportunities for Optex to capitalize on,” states Frost & Sullivan industry analyst Ankur Jajoo. “Based on leading-edge advanced technologies, Optex’s intrusion detection system is easily integrated into full turnkey solutions, including perimeter intrusion protection, ground or air patrols, and alarm monitoring and control.”

The company successfully offers highly innovative technologies such as Passive and Active IR sensors to protect large and small perimeters alike. In response to customer demands, Optex has  been proactively working on improving existing solutions in wireless products and reducing false alarms with quad zone logic, focusing on more sensitive movement and heat displacement.

As every customer is unique in their security, safety and site management requirements, Optex solutions leverage unique home-grown leading-edge technologies such as the RedScan RLS 3060 laser scan detector as well as third-party products with partners such as Inovonics, for specific client needs. As a result, Optex held a significant market share of 9.5% in the world perimeter intrusion detection systems market in 2010. By end of 2011, it is expected to reach 10.7% market share.

“Optex aims to increase its share through technological improvements, newer improved turnkey solutions and superior customer service, unlike some of its direct competitors that continue to offer the same products and services,” says Jajoo. “In addition, Optex is further expanding its supply chain reach by introducing new partnership programs with suppliers and distributors.”

The company’s approved partners receive multiple benefits from the program – detailed product training, free loans of demonstration equipment and special incentives and discounts. This has been key to Optex’s strategy of market penetration and expanding its market share by globally enhancing its name and services offered to new and existing end users and integrators.

Optex has also recently announced a partnership service to support those customers that are seeking to improve their offering of a “total solution provider”. The Optex Security project registration program allows dealers who participate in the program an opportunity to be more competitive on large projects where quality, service and pricing are critical.

Finally, Optex beat the recession by utilizing and implementing best practices from its past low-cost solution projects into current and future projects. This strategy has allowed it to gain further inroads in the highly competitive market. To maximize its market penetration, the company continues to offer improved services and solutions such as advanced training programs, competitive pricing and timely delivery, resulting in higher customer satisfaction and improved return on investment for its customers.

Based on these factors, Frost & Sullivan is proud to present the 2010 North American Market Penetration Leadership of the Year Award in the North American perimeter intrusion detection systems industry to Optex. Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated excellence in capturing the highest market penetration within its industry. The award recognizes the company’s penetration within the industry in terms of revenues or units, as specified.

Frost & Sullivan’s Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research in order to identify best practices in the industry.
