Nick Anderson, managing director of OPTIMA Security Training, has been appointed onto the training providers committee of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA).
OPTIMA Security Training forms part of the wider OPTIMA Group, whose focus is on developing counter threat capability to security and defence organisations around the globe.
As the official trade association for the ever growing private security sector in the UK, the BSIA runs a number of committees dedicated to ensuring quality and professionalism for private security buyers and industry partners.
Nick Anderson’s appointment comes following a recent vote for the BSIA Section Committees. The training provider committee runs a number of sub committees looking at technical matters of interest to members. These include reviewing British and European Standards, developing technical guides and codes of practice and identifying representatives to sit on British and European Standards working groups.
Launched in 2012, the training providers committee is exclusively for companies providing quality training to security personnel.
Anderson said: “It ’s a privilege to hold a seat on this committee . The training provider ‘ section is extremely ambitious in its objectives and is committed to working with fellow training providers, colleges, security companies, trade organisations and the Government to drive standards, increase professionalism and ultimately improve the standard of training offered in the security industry.
“This fits perfectly with OPTIMA ’s vision of providing the security industry with the highest quality training that gives the security sector confidence in anticipating and thinking ahead of the next threat. ”
