Physical security specialists Liddle Doors join Secured by Design

With over 40 years of experience in the industry, Liddle Doors specialises in providing physical security solutions to the utilities sector. Liddle Doors offers a wide range of security products, including steel doors, kiosks and bar sets, as well as providing associated civil works.

Liddle Doors is the most recent addition to the nation’s leading manufacturer of steel security products, Bradbury Group. Combining Bradbury Group’s unrivalled manufacturing capability and production capacity, with Liddle Doors’ forty-year heritage in the industry and trust within the utilities sector, ensures Liddle Doors will be able to offer a wider scope of products and services.

As part of the Bradbury Group, Liddle Doors offer a comprehensive package and expert project delivery. From a single product to complex projects, the company provide competitive turnkey solutions to meet specific requirements.

Mike Holloway, Director at Liddle Doors, said: “I am delighted that Liddle Doors has joined the well-renowned list of Secured by Design approved providers of physical security solutions. Secured by Design accreditation is becoming an increasingly sought-after requirement in our industry, so we are proud to now be able to offer a comprehensive series of accredited products.”

SBD Development Officer Doug Skins said: “I am really pleased that Liddle Doors have joined Secured by Design. They join with an extensive range of kiosks, cages, storage frames and security boxes having achieved Police Preferred Specification and this ensures that their customers can have confidence that their products have met the most robust security standards.”

SBD is part of Police Crime Prevention Initiatives (PCPI), a police owned organisation that works on behalf of the Police Service to deliver a wide range of crime prevention and demand reduction initiatives across the UK. PCPI is a not-for-profit organisation and Board Members include senior police officers from each of the four Home Nations who control and direct the work PCPI carries out on behalf of the Police Service.

SBD plays a significant crime prevention role in the planning process to design out crime in a wide range of building sectors. It has achieved some significant success including one million homes built to SBD standards with reductions in crime of up to 87%.

SBD have many partner organisations, ranging from the Home Office, Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, and the Police Service, through to local authorities, housing associations, developers and manufacturers, and work closely with standards and certification bodies to ensure that their publicly available standards actually meet the needs of the police and public alike.

Products must be subject to rigorous testing and additionally be fully certified by an independent, third-party certification body accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) before being allowed to carry the SBD logo – this is the only way for companies to obtain police recognition for security-related products in the UK.
