Premier Communication Electronics (PCE) have welcomed a new addition to its team with the recruitment of sales executive Stephen Smith.
With more than 25 years’ experience in the business communications industry, Smith will spearhead PCE’s sales drive as it expands into larger premises and new markets.
Smith has recently relocated to the South West from Windsor and joins PCE. As a national sales manager, he has penetrated markets in Europe, Asia and the Middle East while securing contracts with the Police and the Ministry of Defence, among others.
Previously Smith was business development manager for AirRadio Ltd, which delivered communication systems to British Airways Worldwide.
PCE’s chief executive officer Karen Langley said: “PCE already serves the communication needs of many businesses and public sector organisations which fit perfectly with Stephen’s background. We are looking to build on our existing contracts and utilising Stephen’s experience to extend our portfolio throughout the UK.
“We will be moving to much larger premises in Bittern Road, Exeter, by the end of the year, and we see Stephen’s appointment and our imminent move as two vital milestones in our expansion journey.”
Smith said: “Having worked all over the world in a variety of sectors and industries, I am now looking forward to working with PCE and leveraging my experience to promote its award-winning engineering capabilities for communication solutions while bringing all of its innovative and established products and services to a much wider market.”
Biography
After leaving the Royal Free School in Windsor, Berkshire, Smith served in The Royal Household Division under the command of Vice-Admiral Sir Peter Ashmore, Master of The Royal Household and Crown Equerry to HM Queen. Primarily he was stationed at Buckingham Palace with further deployments at other Royal residences.
When Smith left service he was a brigade member of an elite team responsible for the safety of members of the Royal Household, MOD, 999 responders and visitors in attendance at Windsor Castle.
With these skills Smith embarked on a career in the communications industry working for British and European Telecom before specializing in communication solutions working for a variety of Motorola dealers supporting the public and private sector.
Prior to relocating his family to the West Country Smith was immensely proud to be responsible for the delivery of a number of “mission critical” communication systems to the 2012 Olympic Games supplying front line equipment to the Olympic Delivery Authority, the security and emergency services. This role required him to specify the design, implementation and project management of a variety of solutions including networks for wireless CCTV links, professional two way radios and an emerging technology Push To Talk over cellular GSM devices.
In his spare time Smith enjoys being with his wife and two children exploring Cornwall’s landscape and coastline.
