Singapore companies take interest in Myanmar and Indochina market
Ten Singapore companies supplying security solutions will be participating in Myanmar Security Expo in November this year
Security Systems Association of Singapore (SSAS) is leading 11 Singapore-based companies in a Singapore Pavilion in the upcoming Myanmar Security Expo 2016 which will be held from 17 to 19 November.
The positive sentiment is encouraging. Mr Nelson Tee, President of SSAS said:
“Myanmar and the Indochina region is an emerging market for many of us. It will be interesting to see how the new government led the country in economic growth. And with more foreign investments coming into Myanmar, plus the increasing internet adoption, the demand for security solutions will soar.”
The Singapore companies will be showcasing CCTV and surveillance systems, radio communication systems, auto-gate, drones detection and more.
Mr Eguchi, Security Division Head of Asia Pacific, Panasonic System Solutions Asia Pacific, loyal exhibitor of Myanmar Security Expo also commented that:
“last year’s event was very successful for Panasonic. We have appointed 30 new partners and distributors through our participation at Myanmar Security Expo. We look forward to a successful show again this year.”
Mr Terence Ng, General Manager (Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar) of Bosch Security Systems aims to strengthen their presence in Myanmar.
“Through our participation in this event, we want the local security community to recognise and remember our brand. Myanmar has great potential for us. We have been in this market for the past 4 years providing customised security solutions and was involved in many national projects such as Yangon International Airports, Myanmar Convention Centre and Parliament House. We are looking forward to engaging further with the local market and enhance our position as one of the top providers of integrated security solutions.”
In a report released by the US Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), Myanmar has great potential to become the next economic frontier in Asia if it can take advantage of its abundant natural resources, young labour force, and geopolitical proximity to some of the most dynamic economies in the world.
Myanmar’s infrastructure is undergoing major transformation; international telecommunications companies were awarded licenses, 13 foreign banks are allowed to operate, investment in real estate exceeded US$3.7 billion (in the fiscal year 2015-16). These will drive the demand for physical security, data security and fire safety products and equipment in the near future.
Myanmar Security Expo is the business platform for security professions in Myanmar and the IndoChina region to source for the latest security solutions, learn from other experts on implementation and their experiences, and expand their business contacts for future collaborations.
The second edition of Myanmar Security Expo 2016 will continue to showcase the latest technologies in surveillance products and services, perimeter security solutions, access control management systems, biometric systems, RFID and smartcard technology, data security solutions to fire and safety equipment.
The event will also incorporate a conference on “Integrated Physical and Logical Security” that will discuss physical security such as surveillance and command and control centre, as well as trends in cyber space. Confirmed speakers include Mr Mike Phone Myint, Head of IT of Yoma Bank and Mr Leonard Ong, Director, ISACA and Associate Director MSD International.
