Intersec 2025 Review – A global hub for innovation

The Inaugural Policing Conference One of the standout additions was the inaugural Intersec Policing Conference, which set a new benchmark for modern law enforcement collaboration. With over 50 international experts, including representatives from INTERPOL, the Singapore Police Force, and Abu Dhabi Police, the conference explored topics such as predictive policing, AI-driven investigations, and tackling emerging threats like quantum-led crimes and deepfakes. This groundbreaking initiative underscored Dubai’s role as a leader in fostering international cooperation and innovation​​. Innovations and Challenges The event’s comprehensive conference program spanned several specialised sectors. Highlights included the Fire & Rescue Conference, which focused on advanced technologies like AI-driven fire prediction and video-based detection systems, alongside critical discussions on adapting to climate change’s impact on fire behavior​. The Security Leaders’ Summit, in{:cyber} and the CISO Briefing tackled pressing geopolitical challenges, cybersecurity innovations, and the importance of diversity and inclusion in resilient security teams​. Key exhibitors such as Motorola Solutions, FLIR Systems, Zenitel, Sensitron, NAFFCO, Esteri Group, Perimeter Solutions and others captivated attendees with state-of-the-art solutions that are shaping the future of their industries​​. Intersec Awards Intersec 2025 welcomed visitors from 128 countries, reflecting its global reach. The Intersec Awards celebrated excellence across 15 categories, recognising individuals and organisations pushing boundaries in safety, security, and fire prevention. The event buzzed with energy, networking opportunities, and a palpable excitement for what lies ahead​​. This year’s awards attracted a record-breaking 1,421 entries from more than 30 countries, reflecting the dynamic growth of the global safety and security sector. The UAE’s performance included standout wins from organisations including Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai Municipality, Ministry of Interior, Emirates Safety Laboratory LLC, NAFFCO, Luxury Owners Association Management Company LLC (LOAMS), Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), and Drydocks World, affirming the nation’s drive to foster homegrown talent and innovation in collaboration with international expertise. The founder and CEO of Stamp Out Spiking, Dawn is a renowned activist and expert in safeguarding against drink spiking crimes, making her an invaluable addition to the judging panel.  With her deep understanding and experience in dealing with spiking related issues, Dawn Dines has been a formidable force in raising awareness and campaigning for change. Her efforts have led to significant advancements, including having spiking recognized in law and the establishment of the Universities Working Group by the Home Office to address drink spiking in UK universities.  In Spring 2022, Dawn’s expertise was recognized when she was called as an expert witness to the Home Affairs Committee review on drink spiking. Her commitment extends beyond advocacy, as she actively educates key service providers across the UK, sharing her knowledge to better protect communities.  Regarding her role as a judge at the Security Buyer Awards, Dawn shared, “I hope to bring a wealth of knowledge on safeguarding issues on all spiking related crimes within the nighttime economy.
