TDSi supports Julia’s House children’s hospices charity

As part of its commitment to the local community, Poole-based Integrated security manufacturer TDSi has chosen the Dorset and Wiltshire Children’s Hospices charity Julia’s House (registered charity number 1067125) to be the main beneficiary of its 2015 fundraising activities.

TDSi is proud to support worthy charities and Julia’s House is exactly the kind of organisation it likes to support, as Managing Director John Davies commented, “As a Dorset-based company we have strong ties to the local community and organisations, so we like to contribute as much as possible. Julia’s House is a very popular choice with the TDSi team, a charity which helps life-limited children and their families across the area by offering invaluable support and respite sessions.”

The TDSi team will be organising many fundraising activities in the coming months, with John personally running in the local 26.2 mile Bournemouth Marathon later this year to raise money for the charity. Recently members of TDSi team visited the charity’s hospice in Corfe Mullen, Dorset and a reciprocal visit was made by staff from the hospice to show the rest of the team at TDSi’s headquarters in Poole exactly where the fundraising money goes and how it helps the people involved.

Sophie Wilkins, Marketing Assistant at TDSi, was one member of the team that visited the hospice and commented, “It was a great insight into the wonderful work that Julia’s House does and how it makes a huge impact on the children and their families that desperately need the charity’s help. We had a tour of the facilities and met the staff that help people on a daily basis, sometimes under very challenging circumstances.”

Sophie added, “The whole company is looking forward to starting the fundraising campaign, and we have some interesting ideas in the pipeline already – including another charity ‘Bake-off’ competition, which proved so popular last year! We have also had proposals of quiz events and other social and fun activities that make the fundraising equally enjoyable for the team.”

The TDSi team are no strangers to embracing charity fundraising activities. Previous initiatives have ranged from the fun ‘Wear it. Beat It’ red-themed day on behalf of the British Heart Foundation, to the ‘Drench the Directors’ and ‘Bake-off’ competitions in aid of the Boo charity, through to the gruelling Tough Mudder physical assault course activity in aid of Help for Heroes, which seriously tested the competitors to raise money.
