Intersec 2014 got this year’s line-up of events for the security industry off to a roaring start. The exhibition saw a massive jump in footfall and participation on previous years, hosting 1,213 exhibitors and welcoming 24,853 visitors at the World Trade Centre in Dubai in February.

Home Office Security & Policing Event (11th-13th March)
Billed as the UK’s premier security and law enforcement, Security & Policing was launched 30 years ago and provides a platform for professionals from the UK and across the world to engage with the highest level of security expertise. The event grows and evolves year on year in size and scope, provide a level of industry engagement required to enable UK Government to deliver its national security priorities.
The event’s target audience is police, law enforcement and security professionals tasked with security, civil protection and National Resilience. The Annual Ausco Conference (8th-10th April)
The Annual AUSCO Conference will be held at the University of Roehampton, and 2014 is the 30th annual conference of the Association of University Chief Security Officers (AUCSO). AUSCO is the primary association for Security Professionals working in Universities, Colleges and Institutions of Higher and Further Education in the UK and Europe, and the event promises to be highly informative.
The three day event has a busy schedule, offering attendees high level information, education and conversation on a remarkable cross section of topics.

Counter Terror Expo 2014 (29th-30th April)
Counter Terror Expo continues to grow year-on-year, to becoming the largest international counter terrorism and security event of its kind, and the key to its success is the level of responsiveness to real world events. This is something that reflects completely in the themes of the centrepiece conference at the 2014 event hosted at Olympia in London.
The exhibition addresses key sectors, including Global Counter Terrorism; Risk, Resilience & Security – Protecting National Infrastructure; Securing Public Spaces; Emergency Services; Cyber Security & Electronic Terrorism; and Future Policing & Border Security. Forensics Europe Expo 2014 (29th-30th)
Taking place at Olympia, London, Forensics Europe Expo 2014 is set to be this year’s premier international forum dedicated to the entire forensics sector and its supply chain. Securing Asia & Africa 2014 (14th-15th July)
Held at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Securing Asia 2014 comes after the successful delivery of two previous Securing Asia summits. In 2014, Africa will be an integral part of the summit, opening a forum for Asia, Africa and the West to engage and explore strategic business collaborations. Securing Asia & Africa 2014, will cover over 100 countries, the fastest growing economies that IMF predicts will remain so in the coming years.
Over the course of two days, the summit will encompass a conference, an exhibition, business meetings, networking opportunities and access to specialised concierge and business facilitation services.

Global MSC Security Conference & Exhibition 2014 (10th-11th November)
Titled ‘Shaping the Future of CCTV: Technology, Operations & Revenue’, the exhibition is already gathering pace well ahead of the November event at The Bristol Hotel. This event grows in popularity every year, and 2014 will no doubt be a record breaker.

Security Technology Live 2014 Postponed
Finally, Clarion Events announced in February that Security Technology Live 2014, scheduled to take place from the 13th to the 15th of May at the NEC in Birmingham, has been postponed. As the European industry is already focused on their participation at Security in Essen this has created significant challenges for a number of current and potential exhibitors, and as a result Clarion have taken the difficult decision to postpone the first edition of Security Technology Live until 2015.
Clarion are able to refund any and all monies paid to date in full should exhibitors wish, or alternatively they are also able to transfer stands to their end-user security event Counter Terror Expo, which takes place from 29-30 April 2014, at Olympia in London.
