STI Ireland Distribution Hub Update

It’s been a year since STI opened our European Distribution Hub in Waterford, Ireland, and the progress has been extraordinary. What started as an empty 420 square metres of warehouse and storage, and 100 square metres of office space is now filled with new staff and stock! Opened to resolve difficulties surrounding Brexit and issues for European customers, the hub has proven to be a more efficient and seamless process, from ordering to delivery of goods to Europe. Products continue to be produced in the UK and shipped to Ireland for European customers’ ease, but we also build stock in Ireland as the company continues to grow and our Irish team expands. We have recruited and trained local staff to produce and dispatch orders from the Waterford hub. Our branch manager, Richard Gaffney, has been at the Hub since it’s opening, with dispatch coordinator Sean Browne joining a week later. Marie Hennessy (shipping co-ordinator) joined a few weeks later in July. More recently, Marie has taken on additional purchasing and stock control duties for the UK office in addition to the Irish office. Managing Director, Steve Hunt commented, “When we decided to open our Ireland Branch, I was concerned for the reliability of service for our European Market, as we were breaking new ground and setting up an almost autonomous manufacturing and distribution hub in a different country. However, it is testament to our staff in the UK, who assisted in the initial setup of the hub and were prepared to stay in Ireland for several months whilst we sourced new staff to train. We were very lucky to secure the services of our branch Manager Richard Gaffney, who is a dedicated and very reliable member of the Management team. Further good fortune followed, with the employment of Sean Browne and Marie Hennessy who are equally dedicated and reliable members of team Ireland. Because of our excellent staff – both in Ireland and the UK, the setup and operation process has run extremely smoothly, and I look forward to building upon the solid foundations created during the past year.” STI are continuing our growth over the coming years, constantly looking for more opportunities to expand our reach while maintaining quality service and ease for all customers. Barracuda to demonstrate innovations at GITEX 2022

Having unveiled a series of major updates across its security solutions portfolio at its recent virtual worldwide customer conference, Barracuda, a trusted partner and provider of cloud-first security solutions, is now heading to GITEX Global 2022 where it will demonstrate these enhancements for the first time in the region. The product and service innovations that Barracuda will showcase at GITEX are designed to help customers stay protected against the most persistent and evolving cyberattacks, such as ransomware, and support them with complex digital business transformation challenges in the areas of Email Protection, Zero Trust Access, Managed XDR, and Data Protection. “We are excited to once again participate at GITEX Global which will offer us the opportunity to showcase our latest solutions. While these span email, application, and network protection, the common feature they all share is their simplicity and effectiveness. As cyberthreats grow in sophistication, and as IT environments become increasingly complex, it is this message of simplicity that we have found resonates strongly with our customers and prospects. At GITEX, we intend to inform attendees about how our solutions deliver the advanced functionality they need to defend against modern threats, while keeping usability at their core,” said Toni El Inati – RVP Sales, META & CEE, Barracuda Networks. In addition, having made its Cloud-to-Cloud Backup solution available to customers in the United Arab Emirates from Microsoft’s local cloud data centres in the Emirates, Barracuda is now set to build on this success. Coinciding with its presence at GITEX Global, the company will launch its data centre services in South Africa, extending local cloud data protection to its customers in the country. Among the latest product innovations the company will be demonstrating at GITEX Global 2022 are: Zero Trust Access: as part of Barracuda’s SASE platform, Barracuda CloudGen Access now includes web security to protect users no matter where they work. Email Protection: now with Zero Trust Access, Barracuda Email Protection hardens the Microsoft 365 environment by continuously verifying and only allowing the right users to access the right resources. Data Protection: Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup is transactable in Azure Marketplace. Barracuda’s Data Protection business momentum was boosted by the growth in its Cloud-to-Cloud Backup SaaS product line that protects data stored in Microsoft 365. Barracuda will also leverage its presence at GITEX to engage with and expand its channel ecosystem. “The channel community is currently being challenged to compete largely on price rather than on value. In this competitive landscape, Barracuda presents a unique ability for our partners to land and expand. Given the breadth and quality of our solutions portfolio, I believe there is always a relevant Barracuda solution that can be offered to prospective customers. Once these businesses have experienced the power and simplicity of our solutions, it is easy for our partners to grow these engagements into profitable long-term partnerships,” said El Inati. Top Barracuda executives and members of its sales, pre-sales and technical teams will be present through the five days of the show at the company’s stand – Stand C20, in Hall 1. The Safety Letterbox Company

The Safety Letterbox Company releases new SBD product

The Safety Letterbox Company has released another mailbox that complies with the TS009 standard required by Secured by Design, the official police security initiative, meeting its Police Preferred Specification. For over 35 years, The Safety Letterbox Company has been designing, manufacturing, and supplying mailboxes and parcel boxes from their UK factory in South Wales. The Research and Development team at The Safety Letterbox Company are always pushing the manufactory boundaries when it comes to creating new products that would disrupt the industry. The Safety Letterbox Company has been working hard to develop a mailbox that is certified to the Door and Hardware Federation’s Technical Specification 009 (TS009) – the security standard required by Secured by Design to deter and reduce crime – and provides the market with a commercially viable solution. The mailbox, SLB 2021 Horizontal Mailbox (TS009) is an example of a product developed to suit the very real requirements of our clients in compliance with the standard. The TS009H – recognised by Secured by Design for achieving its Police Preferred Specification after going through a rigorous process of security testing – is horizontal and suitable for both internal and external use. Unlike the company’s original TS009, the TS009H can be banked. The focus of the product was not to merely produce a mailbox that ticked the standard, but complies with the TS009:2019 Standards, and is also lighter in weight, more affordable and has maximum security through a clever design. The TS009H is a heavy-duty robust mailbox that can be wall mounted and banked. It’s a long-lasting mailbox that has 8-point locking options protecting consumers’ mail and identity. The 8-point locking door is fitted with a Union Key Prime Lock Certified to EN1303:2015 for extra security. Similar to the original TS009 the TS009H features anti-theft features of the mailbox ensuring that mail cannot be ‘fished’ out of the aperture. The TS009H is a very versatile product and the company’s first secured-by-design mailbox that can be wall mounted and banked together. These mailboxes are also suitable for internal and external use giving contractors and designs more freedom into creating a secure mail area for their residents. The mailboxes can also be customised by polyester powder coating and adding identification tags. The Safety Letterbox company is the only business to have two Secured by Design mailboxes that meet the TS009 standard. Alison Orrells CEO and Managing Director of The Safety Letterbox Company said: “The Safety Letterbox Company TS009 horizontal mailbox is designed to produce a bankable Secured by Design product suitable for arranging in multiples for on or in the wall and freestanding. It provides the ultimate security with multiple hidden measures, rigorously tested and 3rd party certified by Certisecure, all whilst maintaining the appearance of an understated mailbox. We are proud to launch this product to the market, created with a firm understanding of the commercial needs in our market, coupled with the primary function of designing out crime. 100% manufactured in the UK”. Keith Jones – Technical Operations Manager of The Safety Letterbox Company added: “The TS009h follows in the footsteps of our TS009v mailbox, the new horizontal version can be stacked vertically and horizontally to form banks of mailboxes. It has passed the same rigorous physical testing as the original model and is fully certified.” To read more news and exclusive features see our latest issue here. SentinelOne to showcase at GITEX 2022

SentinelOne, an autonomous cybersecurity platform company, plans to showcase its autonomous extended detection and response (XDR) platform, and identity and credential protection solution at GITEX Global 2022, the region’s largest technology exhibition. The company will also engage with channel players in key Middle East and Africa markets as part of its aspirations to expand further in the region, as the appetite for technology grows. Joining GITEX Global 2022’s extensive conference and workshop agenda, Tamer Odeh, Regional Sales Director at SentinelOne will give a presentation on ‘The Importance of Identity Security Modernization’ on the first day of the event. “GITEX Global has evolved from its original concept in step with the market and, as a result, it has maintained its position as the Middle East’s key ICT exhibition. We are excited to be part of the event this year and plan to showcase our Singularity XDR and Singularity for Identity autonomous cybersecurity solutions. These solutions offer enterprises autonomous, comprehensive and responsive protection, which is absolutely vital given the rapidly evolving global threat landscape and the potential damage a security breach can cause,” said Tamer Odeh, Regional Sales Director, SentinelOne. Annual spending on digital transformation across the Middle East, Turkey and Africa is set to top $58 billion, as regional governments and organizations increasingly look to technology to find new efficiencies, and respond to changing demands and new challenges. While digital transformation can certainly make a difference, the downside is governments and businesses then become potential targets for a variety of global threat actors. As a result, the need for effective cybersecurity is at an all-time high. Cybersecurity solutions must be able to see across every corner of the enterprise, offer rapid and efficient protection across the organization, and offer an automated response across the connected security ecosystem. SentinelOne’s Singularity XDR was designed to respond to these requirements in full; it can autonomously supercharge, fortify, automate and extend protection from the endpoint to beyond, with unfettered visibility, proven protection, and industry leading responsiveness. The XDR solution was built to be better, faster and autonomous, and is a comprehensively better approach to cybersecurity when compared to traditional approaches. Singularity XDR is also designed with the security analyst experience in mind and empowers users with richer data, smarter workflows, and powerful tools at every step of the threat lifecycle. ‘Identity’ cybersecurity has also grown in importance over the years since identity-based infrastructure has become a core function in terms of scaling business. Due to this, this surface has become a primary attack vector for global threat actors, with weaknesses and misuse of Active Directory playing a significant part in the most disruptive ransomware attacks committed in recent times. It’s therefore vital that organizations take a deliberate, more holistic approach to secure their identity layer. This is where Singularity for Identity comes into play. The solution is designed to: prevent attack opportunities by closing the gaps in Active Directory and Azure AD that attackers frequently exploit; prevent attack progression by finding and misdirecting covert actors aiming to steal credentials; build resilience by ascertaining insights and intelligence from attempted attacks to prevent repeated compromises. “SentinelOne looks forward to engaging with existing partners and customers and making new connections at GITEX Global 2022. We have a strong desire to expand our presence in this rapidly transforming region with a broader channel and look forward to continuing our work with partners to protect regional businesses from current and new threats,” added Odeh. Senior executives and cybersecurity experts from SentinelOne will be at stand C55 in Hall 1 to meet with customers and partners throughout the duration of GITEX Global 2022.
