Lodge Service and Pals form merger for retail loss prevention service

International loss prevention and security consultancy Lodge Service has merged its profit protection and LodgIC intelligence business with ‘total loss’ consultants PALS (Profit and Loss Support) Services.

Lodge Service CEO Stuart Lodge says: “Lodge Service was formed originally as a test purchasing business – testing the integrity of cashiers at the point of sale. As we move into a second 100 years of operating we can provide our clients with new insights and solutions combining the use of critical data and experienced security staff.
“The value of test purchasing is considerably enhanced by data mining, which we can combine with mystery shopping to include customer experience evaluation. The objective over the next five years is to provide our customers with a new ‘blended’ solution to resolve risks; it aligns specialist manpower with the application of technology to achieve a targeted, intelligence-led strategy.”

The PALS team offers domain expertise in ‘total loss’ consultancy and has access to advance software and hardware solutions to complement Lodge Service’s security and investigations experience.
Existing and new clients will see major benefits from the two businesses coming together, says Stuart Lodge. It aligns all the experience and facilities from the near 100 year old business with PALS loss prevention and retail expertise, along with new software and hardware.

PALS managing director Karl Jordan says: “This merger extends our capability to support every area of retail security and profit protection objectives comprehensively. Wherever the risks occur instore, through e-commerce channels, retail supply chain or at a corporate level, we can now make full use of remote monitoring systems and technologies to enhance our existing software and hardware solutions.”
Karl Jordan says that the merger upgrades the facilities of LodgIC and the intelligence centre team to enable analysis of business data, including transactional activity. Together with CCTV evidence and Cloud integration, this supports data protection and GDPR requirements for clients. He says: “Allied with external data and national crime intelligence on organised gang activity we can help clients to achieve their objectives to sell more and lose less.”

Lodge Service offers security staffing, investigations, CCTV and alarm installation, store detectives and test purchasing services, managed from its Lodgic intelligence centre.
PALS was formed by Karl Jordan and Ben Macdonald in 2015, who also founded Transpeye, a Cloud-based EPoS and device activity alerting system in 2016.

Stuart Lodge says: “I am delighted about this merger. I have known Karl and the team for many years and PALS will naturally complement our business having similar values and visions and an extensive skill set which will enhance our overall Lodge management infrastructure.”
