Avigilon appoints Larry Berg to board of directors

Avigilon LogoAvigilon have announced that Larry Berg has been appointed to its board of directors. Berg joins Avigilon after 15 years as president and CEO of the Vancouver Airport Authority.

During his time with the Vancouver Airport Authority he spearheaded a $1.4 billion expansion project and facilitated the extension of the Canada Line mass transit system expansion to Vancouver International Airport.

He was also credited with playing a role in bringing the 2010 Winter Olympics to Canada and, while he was in charge, Vancouver International Airport was named Best Airport in North America at the Skytrax World Airport Awards in April 2013.

Berg said: “Avigilon is a remarkable technology company with a proven track record of success.

“I look forward to applying my experience and contributing to the company’s rapid growth.”

Berg has previously held the role of vide present of administration at the Canadian energy company Luscar and has held directorships on the boards of Seacliff Construction Company, Canada Line Rapid Transit, and VGH-UBC Hospital Foundation.

He is currently a director of Vantage Airports Group, which operators 12 airports globally, and sits on the board of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Society.
