Reliance High-Tech introduces Reliance Technology Care Solutions

Reliance High-Tech has announced the launch of its exciting new venture – Reliance Technology Care Solutions. Designed to bring the company’s expertise into the rapidly expanding personal healthcare sector, Reliance Technology Care Solutions aims to be the technology enabled care provider of choice for people with a range of medical conditions. It will achieve this by blending cutting edge technologies with its 24/7 alarm monitoring expertise in order to help individuals maintain independent and healthy lifestyles, while offering valuable peace of mind.

Reliance Technology Care Solutions aims to integrate a range of specialist medical technology solutions with the alarm management services of its in-house BS 5979 Category II alarm receiving centre (ARC). Through a unique combination of experience, monitoring the safety of tens of thousands of people through the Reliance Protect brand, the standards accreditation maintained, exceptional performance levels and service, and service resilience and disaster recovery, the Reliance ARC is uniquely placed to extend its incident monitoring and rapid escalation services to people with a range of medical conditions.

‘I’m delighted to announce that our first strategic partnership is with My Medic Watch – a developer of smartwatch apps that enable people with epilepsy, or at risk of falls, to get immediate care and assistance when an incident is detected via the smartwatch apps,’ explained Chris Allcard, director at Reliance High-Tech. ‘We have an exclusive partnership with My Medic Watch for the UK and have worked closely with them over the last 12 months developing the ARC monitoring service. We are the first approved partner of My Medic Watch in the world’.

The My Medic Watch apps use advanced algorithms to detect falls and uncontrollable movements associated with seizures. When the app detects an incident it notifies nominated loved ones and carers. If they can’t help, it quickly escalates to the Reliance ARC alongside user location and real time heart rate information. The ARC’s alarm handling operators can then use this to get help to the user, including escalation to nominated loved ones or carers, or to the emergency services as required.

The alarm handling operators at the Reliance Technology Care Solutions ARC are some of the most highly skilled in the security industry and key personnel have undergone training with Epilepsy Action – a leading UK epilepsy charity.  As well as giving them an overview of the common types of seizures such as tonic-clonic, absence and focal, the training covered how epilepsy can impact someone’s daily life and how people behave during the many types of seizures and how they are affected immediately in the aftermath, which is crucial when managing such an event.

Reliance Technology Care Solutions is also Reliance High-Tech’s first business to consumer (B2C) venture. B2C success requires a strong emphasis on meeting the needs of individual consumers. The company’s extensive experience within Reliance Protect supporting over 50k users within a business to business (B2B) model for over 15 years, and the systems and processes developed over that time, will be invaluable when it comes to maintaining a customer-centric approach, using clear communication, and understanding customer preferences.

Alistair Enser, chief executive officer at Reliance High-Tech, concluded, ‘The launch of Reliance Technology Care Solutions is an incredibly exciting development for us, and we firmly believe that this is a unique offering to the telehealth sector. Our relationship with My Medic Watch is the first in what will be a wide range of technology partnerships covering a range of medical conditions. Reliance Technology Care Solutions aims to ensure that people who live with such conditions can lead their lives to the full, safe in the knowledge that if help is needed from our ARC we will always be there.’

My Medic Watch CEO, Serge Lauriou, expressed his enthusiasm about the new collaboration: “No one should ever have to face an incident alone. Our applications are currently assisting thousands of users by ensuring they receive assistance from their caregivers. This partnership with Reliance Technology Care enhances their peace of mind by providing access to specialised support services. We are excited to work with the Reliance Technology Care team to provide an enhanced level of care and rapid response for our users experiencing an incident.
