Mul-T-Lock’s smart security at White Hart Hotel

Mul-T-Lock’s innovative SMARTair™ access control system has been installed at the White Hart Hotel in Harrogate as part of a refurbishment programme of works, carefully planned to be sensitive to the historic significance of the Georgian manor house.

The White Hart Hotel is one of the finest hotels in Harrogate and has been welcoming visitors to Harrogate for over 250 years. Occupying a beautiful detached Georgian manor house, the White Hart Hotel is located in the heart of Harrogate’s antiques quarter.

Due to the historical ambience of the site, even when it came to replacing the now failing security systems, the owners required a solution that would not affect the style of the doors or affect the overall aesthetics of the architecture.

Local Mul-T-Lock dealer, PSW Locksmiths recommended SMARTair™, a state of the art access control solution to replace the mechanical systems. Nemef mortice locks, also supplied by Mul-T-Lock, were used in conjunction with the SMARTair™ units.

Sarah Carter, HR Manager at White Hart Hotel, comments: “Any refurbishment measures however small, must be carefully considered with regards to the aesthetic impact on the beautiful Georgian building, which is home to the hotel. SMARTair™ proves to be the winning upgrade solution as it is effectively ‘just’ a handle but with great security benefits.

“PSW Locksmiths worked to ensure installation had no impact on our guests, all our staff have now been trained and it’s like SMARTair™ has always been around. We’re really pleased with the result both from an aesthetic perspective and also with the additional peace of mind we can offer guests.”
SMARTair™ electronic handles overcome many of the obstacles traditionally associated with access control systems. With no hard wiring required, installation time is reduced significantly, and with no requirement to channel walls or expose unsightly cable ducting, the SMARTair™ system compliments its surrounding effortlessly.

Paul Woods at PSW Locksmiths added: “The beauty of SMARTair™ for the White Hart Hotel is its ability to operate as an all in one solution, with no extra wiring required. This means we did not have to disrupt the historic aesthetics of the hotel in anyway, and could install SMARTair™ quickly and effectively to leave a high security solution for the benefit of all who work and visit the hotel.”

SMARTair™’s all-in-one access control solution reduces the cost and inconvenience associated with wiring a traditional access control system. No software or programming is involved, so user cards and fobs can be easily added or removed as required.

Danny Rising, Regional Sales Manager at Mul-T-Lock concluded: “Mul-T-Lock SMARTair™ is cleverly designed as an all in one wire free access control system. It delivers flexibility, convenience and usability, wrapped in a stylish design, and offered at a substantially lower cost than traditional integrated access control systems. The White Hart Hotel can blend with its historic surroundings and meet the security demands of today’s ever changing hospitality environment.”
