ABUS Security-Center, manufacturer of innovative alarm systems, video surveillance system, door intercom systems and detectors, celebrates yet another chapter of its success story. On Friday 11th October 2013, in the presence of high-ranking representatives from politics, media and business, a new building at the company headquarters in Affing was inaugurated with 2,300 m ² of gross floor area and space for up to 100 new employees. The sustained growth that the company has shown since it was founded in 1999 will thus continue in the coming years. ABUS Security-Center also shows its commitment to the Augsburg economic region with this three-story building as a visible sign. The environmentally-friendly building is heated by district heating and has a flexible floor plan for accommodating the modern offices and testing laboratories. A pleasant working atmosphere is ensured by natural light in the atrium and gallery of the building, as well as scalable public meeting areas. A showroom is available with a permanent exhibition of innovative ABUS products along with several conference rooms for contacts with security specialist companies. The new building complements the existing three buildings of the company headquarters, which currently accommodate the areas of product development, quality assurance, sales, marketing, technical service and a training centre.

Benjamin Pflaum, managing director at ABUS Security-Center and Christian Bremicker, chairman of the board of the ABUS Group welcomed the guests together with Karl Moser, chairman of the regional Chamber of Commerce assembly in Aichach-Friedberg and Rudi Fuchs, the mayor of Affing. In their welcome speech, Benjamin Pflaum and Christian Bremicker emphasised the company ‘s excellent prospects which have arisen from the new building: “By working closely with the other German ABUS companies we have managed to close the gap between mechanical and electronic security technology and to move from the former five-man operation into a leading international manufacturer with over 250 employees worldwide – including 150 employees in the area of Augsburg ”, summed up Benjamin Pflaum, on the development of the company so far. “Additional space requirements, future expansion opportunities and the responsibility towards our customers and employees to produce security products in ideal working conditions and in line with the latest technical standards, led to the decision to expand our corporate headquarters ”, explained Pflaum as the reasons for the new building. Here he can count on the full backing of the ABUS Group: “At ABUS we have always focused on sustainable investments ”, explained Christian Bremicker. “This is why we are convinced that expanding the site in Affing is the right way forward ”, Bremicker stated.

ABUS Security-Center is a manufacturer of innovative alarm systems, video surveillance systems, door intercom systems and detectors. As a member of the ABUS Group, the company is specialised both in industry-specific security requirements as well as the demands which private users have. The development of particularly user-friendly and fully-integrated security products is its priority: a fusion of mechanical components, electronics, alarms and video monitoring to produce integral security solutions. ABUS Security-Center, which maintains its headquarters in the Augsburg area, has its manufacturing, research and development sites in Kiel and Taipei. While its key focus is Europe, the company is represented worldwide. ABUS was honoured as the “Most Innovative Brand 2013 ” by the Plus X Award in the category “Electrical and Media Technology ”.
