During the General Assembly 2014, held on May 12th, Euralarm has welcomed a new member. The Danish trade association SikkerhedsBranchen became member of the Euralarm section Fire Safety. Also the Czech trade association for fire safety CECH-EPS was welcomed as a aspirant-member. With the new and aspirant-member the coverage of Euralarm over Europe has become even stronger.
Founded in 1992 the trade association SikkerhedsBranchen has over 300 members representing about 90 percent of the total market turnover in Denmark. CECH-EPS is a 150 members association for Czech companies in the field of fire safety. Major topics that are dealt with by the associations are quality, standardization and certification. By joining Euralarm the associations have also got a voice in Europe, are strongly represented in international standardization bodies. They now also can contribute to providing technical and market expertise for policy making and standardization work in the field of security and fire safety and related services.
Broader membership basis
Besides welcoming new members, Euralarm also decided on statutes changes during its most recent General Assembly. The changes open up the Euralarm doors for associations and institutions that are active in the field of research, education, science, etc. As a member of Euralarm these knowledge institutes will benefit from Euralarm’s co-operation with standardization and certification bodies while contributing to in-depth knowledge as basis for education of Euralarm target groups.
