Offering a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise, Global Security Summit London will see ASIS International, the largest organisation for security professionals; British Security Industry Association (BSIA), the trade association for the private security industry in the UK; the Fire Protection Association (FPA), the UK’s national fire safety organisation; and the Security Institute, the UK based institute for individual security practitioners; come together to offer unrivalled expert opinion and advice on the varied and significant end-user security challenges.

Taking place from 10-11th October at the newly refurbished Olympia Exhibition and Conference Centre in London, the Advice Centre is one of the key features at Global Security Summit London and is open to all visitors across the two days.  Attendees are invited to pre-book Advice Centre appointments with their most relevant industry association, depending on interests and advice sought.  There will also be a small number of walk-in slots offered on the day, subject to availability.

Tracy Bebbington, Event Manager at Global Security Summit London, said: “Convergence is one of the major themes running through this event; as such we have brought this topic back to grass-root levels, creating a neutral environment where four of the key security and fire industry associations have united under one roof to educate the end-user security professionals that shape our industry.

“Creating this unique feature allows us to lead the way in providing the guidance and opinion that is vital to those with security management and converged project responsibilities across the complete security and facilities management portfolio.”

James Kelly, Chief Executive at the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), comments: “The Global Security Summit London Advice Centre provides a unique opportunity for delegates to speak to representatives from four well-established and authoritative organisations, which is why we are excited to be a part of it.

“As the trade association for the private security industry, one of our key objectives is to educate and advise end-users as well as security professionals on how to achieve best practice in security by selecting reputable suppliers.  From our experience running drop-in surgeries at IFSEC International 2012, there is a real appetite among delegates at exhibitions to access immediate and professional advice on the issues affecting their industry, so we look forward to sharing our wide-ranging expertise at this event.”

Throughout the two days of Global Security Summit London, ASIS International Advice Centre representatives will be made up of certified protection professionals (CPPs) and physical security professionals (PSPs), ensuring only the best advice is given.  Topics to be covered include: Physical Security (the new standard); Security Convergence; ASIS Women in Security programme; Military / Police transition into security profession, and an overview of ASIS qualifications.

Mike Hurst, Vice Chairman – Strategy, ASIS International UK Chapter, said: “ASIS is very pleased to be supporting the first Global Security Summit which we anticipate will become a major fixture in the security calendar.  The Global Security Summit London Advice Centre is an innovative approach for us as it will both promote ASIS as an organisation and allow us to share the considerable expertise that exists within the membership, particularly with those members who are Board Certified in security and hold the CPP and PSP designations.”

Di Thomas, General Manager at the Security Institute, adds: “In being one of the four organisations presenting the Global Security Summit London Advice Centre, we are confident that direct access to our Members, Fellows, and Chartered Security Professionals for free advice will be a popular attraction. This is very much in keeping with the overall ethos of Global Security Summit London, which is designed to showcase the best that the security and risk management sector has to offer. We certainly intend to showcase the knowledge and professionalism that our members have, and also those of the Register of Chartered Security Professionals.”
