Honeywell security panels for connected home security system – Sucre Box and Sucre Box+

New Sucre Box and Sucre Box+ panels offer IP and GPRS connection options, increased functionality with mobile app for evohome thermostat management.

Honeywell announced the Sucre Box and Sucre Box+ security panels, which offer increased integration with other systems through the Honeywell Total Connect Comfort International (TCCI) mobile app, including Honeywell evohome thermostats. The new security panels follow on the launch of Honeywell Cloud Services and the first Le Sucre™ wireless intruder alarm panel for self-monitoring service.

Le Sucre with Honeywell Cloud Services offers a complete self-monitoring and remote service solution, which can be placed anywhere in the home. When an alarm is triggered, whether by a motion detector, smoke detector, or carbon monoxide alarm, the homeowner is alerted by email or text message – providing peace of mind that their home is secure, wherever they are in the world.

Developed to interface seamlessly with the Honeywell Cloud and Le Sucre, the new Sucre Box panel is connected directly to the internet router through an IP Ethernet connection. For situations where internet connectivity is less reliable, or there is a risk of power loss, the Sucre Box+ model includes an integrated SIM card module that enables a secure GPRS link using mobile phone networks.

The launch of Sucre Box is accompanied by new compatibility with the Total Connect Comfort International mobile app. The intuitive app allows homeowners to control their Sucre Box security system remotely, arm or disarm the system, and verify an alert received through Honeywell Cloud Services. For example, if a motion detector with built-in camera is triggered, the Sucre Box ensures that images are recorded, transferred, and stored securely on the Honeywell Cloud. Homeowners can then access their images on smartphone or tablet via the mobile app, wherever they are, and verify if the alert was triggered by mistake. The homeowner can also request further live images if needed, for additional peace of mind.

The TCCI mobile app also provides additional benefits for homeowners looking to build a connected home system. As well as remotely managing the Sucre Box, homeowners can also use the Total Connect Comfort International app to control their Honeywell evohome thermostat. Homeowners can choose to reduce temperatures when turning on an alarm, for example, or turn the heating on when the alarm is switched off. This integration helps homeowners be more energy efficient, and provides extra convenience when they return home from work.

Homeowners have a variety of options for setting and unsetting the Sucre Box system; from a single keyfob, to the new TCCI mobile app, and a new GKP-S8M wireless keypad. Designed for ultimate ease-of-use, the new keypad is equipped with a TAG reader with large touch keys, which automatically light up when the user opens the door to their home. The new “EZ” range of peripherals are easy to install and can be set up in minutes, coming complete with quick-install diagrams, video tutorials, and the double-sided tape required for install.

Sucre Box uses the same radio technology as Honeywell’s Domonial, one of the most popular remotely monitored wireless security systems in Europe. This technology is trusted by more than 2 million customers to provide a reliable and secure monitoring security solution.
