IDIS launches Edge AI Plus Camera Range

IDIS’s new Edge AI Plus Camera range gives users more flexible, affordable options to upgrade their video systems with advanced AI functionality, including new automated detection functions.

The range, from South Korea’s largest in-country video technology manufacturer, includes a host of tools to improve real-time surveillance operations and footage search-and-playback. It comprises outdoor-ready and vandal-proof 8MP domes (DC-D6831WRA) and bullets (DC-T6831WRA), with a powerful PTZ model scheduled for launch this summer.

The Edge AI Camera Plus range features IDIS’s upgraded analytics engine, IDLA Pro, which drives even greater operational efficiency for busy security teams. With on-the-edge analytics capabilities and five new essential functions, including crowd detection, abandoned and removed object detection, fall detection, and violence detection, the new range is designed to support more proactive security responses in a varied range of settings.

The cameras ensure outstanding HD surveillance and threat detection with exceptional image capture even in varied and challenging lighting conditions, including bright sunlight and night, thanks to IR, WDR, and a larger sensor (1/1.8”). The range also features IDIS’s new A-Cut function, making attribute search fast and easy, with automatic image cropping, intuitive metadata search options, and a convenient user interface. Advanced attribute recognition options include the gender and age of subjects, and whether they are wearing glasses, hats, or masks, or carrying accessories such as bags. It also distinguishes between vehicle types (sedans, trucks, buses, motorcycles, etc.) and colors.

Edge AI Plus Camera analytics is powered by the in-house-developed IDIS Deep Learning Engine, ensuring industry-leading accuracy. The range offers all the advantages of IDIS DirectIP® technology including: straightforward plug-and-play set-up and one-click configuration for centralized monitoring, allowing for rapid and cost-effective deployment; no hidden extra costs or charges per channel; the assurance of multi-layered cybersecurity protection using IDIS’s own patented protocols encompassing mutual authentication of devices, MFA, video data capture, storage, and transmission. Combined, this ensures an industry-best low total cost of ownership (TCO), with zero license fees, a low maintenance burden, and extended warranties.

“Our powerful new Edge AI Plus Camera range delivers all the advantages of an intuitive, easy-to-use interface with functions designed for convenient and more efficient and proactive surveillance operations,” says Jun-Jyung Sung, Head of Product Planning Team, IDIS. “Crucially, it strengthens security and mitigates safety risk with affordable system upgrade options, allowing analytics tools to be deployed exactly where they are needed most, to protect priority locations 24/7 with enhanced domain awareness.”
