IFSEC International Takes the Capital by Storm

ifsec internationalIFSEC International, organised by UBM Live, is pleased to announce the success of the inaugural year at ExCeL London. Taking place from 17th – 19th June, more than 40,000 attendees flooded through the doors as part of Protection & Management 2014, which brings together FIREX International, Facilities Show, Energy & Environment Expo, Safety & Health Expo and Service Management Expo, alongside IFSEC International.

Protection & Management 2014 opened the show with a record breaking first day as 19,544 visitors swarmed through the doors, a huge increase of 23 per cent on 2013, demonstrating this is the go-to place for sourcing the latest products and innovations, discovering expertise across security, fire, facilities, safety and energy. More than 1700 exhibitors showcased their latest solutions and offered visitors the chance to get hands-on with interactive features.

IFSEC International attracted 22,627 total attendees which breaks down as a 5.2 per cent increase in visitors, 29 per cent increase of end-users, and 37 per cent of visitors attending from overseas. Alongside the increase in these key visitor groups, IFSEC International also maintained UK visitors as the show took place in the capital city. Businesses looking to expand into UK export benefitted from the distinct volume of international visitors, and took advantage of the UKTI Events Alliance being present at the show for the first time.

Visitor demographics proved that budgets in 2014 have increased with a significant 32 per cent of attendees having a budget in excess of £1million and 10 per cent have a budget greater than £10million. Overall budgets have increased by 8.6 per cent, demonstrating the growth that the security industry is currently experiencing. Stand out trends from visitor interest included an increase in demand to see the latest innovation around; integrated security, intruder alarms, physical security and perimeter protection.

More than 87 per cent of the floor plan has already been rebooked for 2015, with returning exhibitors including: Tyco, Xtralis, Axis Communications, Milestone, Canon, CSL DualCom, BT Redcare, Pelco, Paxton, Pyronix, Texecom, Avigilon, RISCO, UTC, IDIS, Y3K, Bosch, Salto, ASSA ABLOY, TDSi plus many more. This provides the perfect platform to take the show to new heights next year and welcome an even wider community of security professionals to the event.

In addition to Safe Cities, visitors to IFSEC International were able to benefit from six dedicated education theatres located across the show floor. Visitors were able to gain insight into the hottest topics of 2014, theatres included: IFSEC Global.com Centre Stage showcasing the biggest names in the industry, ipAssured Education Zone, Smart Buildings Theatre, Convergence Solutions Theatre, Tavcom Training Theatre and the Risk & Security Management Theatre.

Gerry Dunphy, Event Director for IFSEC & FIREX International, said: “IFSEC International 2014 has gone above and beyond everyone’s expectations; we set the bar high and wanted to demonstrate that this is the next chapter of IFSEC. Response from both visitors and exhibitors to the new venue, features and education has been hugely positive. We’ve already made a great start towards 2015 with 87 per cent of the floor plan booked and look forward to welcoming everyone back next year.”
