International participants hear latest on Expo’s mission for a brighter tomorrow

How will the first World Expo in the Middle East region harness a spirit of optimism and unite the planet in a quest for a better future? That is a key topic for discussion at the fourth International Participants Meeting (IPM) organised by Expo 2020 Dubai.

Around 1,000 delegates from around the world are gathering at the latest IPM – the largest to date – to hear how Expo 2020 will create an international platform for collaboration that will spark innovative solutions to today’s globally-shared challenges.

With less than 11 months to go until the opening of The World’s Greatest Show, attendees will receive updates on how Expo-led construction is on track and programming is coming to life, covering top-class food, music, tech, culture, art and creativity from around the planet.

The fourth IPM comes just months after a Global Optimism Survey, commissioned by Expo 2020 and conducted by YouGov, found that people of all backgrounds in countries around the world were united in calling for more open dialogue, communication and collaboration between individuals and communities.

The Expo 2020, will kick off on October 20, 2020 and be the most inclusive and international in World Expo history, convening 192 countries, plus multilateral organisations, educational establishments and businesses for a global celebration of human brilliance and achievement.

They have also announced great value tickets and extensive concessions for the next World Expo with a single-day adult ticket (aged 18 and over) will cost AED 120 (USD $33) and give access to 60 live daily shows, future-shaping technologies, performances by world-famous artists, parades, cutting-edge innovations and architecture, special celebrations and more than 200 F&B outlets serving more than 50 cuisines.

It is unlikely that one visit will be enough. A three-day pass – which costs AED 260 (USD $71) and can be used on any three days of the 173-day event – lets visitors discover Expo 2020’s 4.38 sq/km site, including the Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability districts and the 192 Country Pavilions. The great value ticketing also grants complimentary access for people of determination, while their carers enter for half price. Children aged five and below enter for free, as do seniors aged 65 and over, while youngsters aged six to 17 and students of all ages will get a 50% discount.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public in April 2020, although visitors will be able to buy monthly and season passes directly from Expo from Q4 2019 – details to be announced later. Single-day and three-day tickets will be offered to international travellers in bundled packages to be sold by Authorised Ticket Resellers, contracted with Expo 2020 starting May 2019.
