Johnson Controls’ exacqVision video management system enhanced

Johnson Controls’ exacqVision video management system has been enhanced to improve situational awareness while adding user controls for administrators.

The exacqVision (v8.8) is better able to serve businesses by allowing users to embed a web page as a panel within the exacqVision client in order to retrieve important information, which could be utilised to display breaking news headlines. Alternatively, the exacqVision (v8.8) can allow for connectivity to web-enabled security or other mission critical systems.

Ideal for associating access control or intrusion breaches the latest addition to the Johnson Controls portfolio will permit event links to be displayed as an association, which will appear on top of the live video feed. The application will be useful for security in retail settings where metal/foil detectors are often deployed to detect foil-lined bags – a new tool for shoplifters.

Once the serial data profile is set up from the metal detector, whenever a foil-lined bag is detected, the video management system alert will trigger and automatically appear on top of the corresponding live video, providing critical information to the retailer trying to prevent rising theft.

This latest release also adds imperative controls for administrators looking to manage security tighter, enabling them to choose how and when users can access the VMS.

Expiring inactive accounts, automatically unlocking accounts, and assigning temporary guest accounts are just some of the new features, which give system administrators visibility and control over system access.

exacqVision v8.8 has also introduced the hover feature to speed up the process of identifying where cameras are located (e.g. lobby, parking lot). This is achieved by displaying a preview image of a camera’s live feed when a user hovers over that camera’s name in the user interface.

Finally, exacqVision 8.8 makes the camera configuration process significantly faster and more efficient. For projects requiring dozens or hundreds of cameras across multiple servers, adding each camera one at a time can be a tedious and time-consuming task. With this latest release, time and money can be saved as multiple IP cameras can be imported to several servers at one time via a CSV file, which includes the cameras’ IP addresses, usernames, passwords, etc.
