Anthony King voted English Police Rugby Union Club Captain

Kings Security CEO, Anthony King, has been announced as club captain of the England Police Rugby Union team (EPRUFC).

Kings Security is the official sponsor of EPRUFC and has a long-standing history of working alongside the English police force. They are currently also main sponsor of the English Police Rugby League team.

Anthony’s captaincy was made official on Wednesday 10th February before the team’s match against the Scottish Police.

The event was marked with an official presentation at Ilkley Rugby Club, attended by a number of high profile guests including Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Dr Ingrid Roscoe, ex-British Lions player, John Bentley, President of the Scottish Rugby Union, Ed Crozier, Chief Constable at Nottinghamshire Police, Chris Eyre, EPRUFC Chairman and Chief Constable of Durham Constabulary, Mike Barton and Deputy Chairman and Founder of EPRUFC, Peter Oram.

Speaking about his new role for the club, Anthony said: “It’s an absolute honour to be chosen as the EPRUFC’s new club captain.

“Kings Security has been involved in the English police force rugby for a number of years now and as a Yorkshire born and bred family firm, rugby is in our DNA.

“This partnership not only strengthens our strong working relationship with the English police force, but will also help to cement relationships between the public and private policing sectors.

“I would like to thank everyone at EPRUFC for this fantastic opportunity and I thoroughly look forward to my time with the club.”
