Qognify customer awarded security technology award of excellence

The integrated, innovative program features a first-of-its-kind mobile solution

Qognify, formerly NICE Security, announced that Denver Regional Transportation Security Program has been awarded Security Technology Executive Magazine’s (STE) top prize in its 10th annual Security Innovation Awards, winning the Grand Platinum Award of Excellence in the Municipal Transportation Security Sector for their Qognify-based solution.

This prestigious accolade honors the most innovative collaborative security project of the year for submissions entered from around the world.

The STE Magazine award program showcases and honors the best collaborative project efforts by security solutions providers, systems integrators and their end user client. Qognify, the Denver RTD and partners devised one of the most advanced and comprehensive security programs. Taking a phased approach that kept passenger safety and satisfaction at the heart of planning, the Denver RTD has been methodically and continually improving their transit system for more than a decade.

“Securing every train to the plane”, an objective for the latest phase of this innovative project, includes a first-of-its-kind fixed wayside VMS integrated with an on-board mobile video surveillance solution, powered by Qognify’s advanced video management. At the core of this solution and the entire security operation is Situator, Qognify’s advanced Situational Management/PSIM platform.

Bob Grado, Transit Police Commander and Manager of Integrated Security Operations, Denver Regional Transportation District commented:

“We’ve successfully leveraged and extended advanced video management to our entire transportation fleet using mobile capabilities, and then adding Situation Management to it. The journey we’ve taken with Qognify has significantly improved the security and operations at Denver RTD. We’re proud that the industry’s most prestigious award is recognizing this program.”

Steve Lasky, editor-in-chief and editorial director for SecurityInfoWatch Security Media Group said:

“As always, this year’s entrants represented the best of the industry. Denver RTD’s committed focus to security and strategic view of its importance has allowed the organization to benefit from a progressive and innovative solution that’s been made possible by their collaborative partnerships.”

Moti Shabtai, President of Qognify said:

“The Denver RTD Security Program exemplifies the use of smart technology by smart people. Their objective was to extend the benefits of a combined situation management and video management solution to their entire transportation fleet for the benefit of passengers, employees, and the public at large. And collectively we were able to achieve just that. We are honored to be recognized by the prestigious STE award for the second year in a row, this time for our close partnership with the Denver RTD, Panasonic, Axis, and Rail Services Corporation.”

The awards will be presented in a ceremony during the Secured Cities conference, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Reliant Park, Houston, Texas on November 16th 2016.
