Securitas shortlisted in two excellence awards

Securitas is proud to announce the company has made it to the finals in two categories at this year’s Security & Fire Excellence Awards.

The awards, supported by IFSEC International and FIREX International, honour the very best people, projects and processes the UK’s security sector has to offer. Securitas’ Director of Risk Management, Dr Peter Speight, has been shortlisted for the Security Consultant of the Year Award, whilst the company’s Emergency Fire Crew Capability (EFCC) team has been shortlisted for the Combined Security and Fire Solution of the Year Award.

Securitas’ Country President, Brian Riis Nielsen, said:

“Over the past two decades, Peter has refined a unique enterprise risk management model that has returned spectacular results for several large accounts. I’m delighted he’s been recognised in this way, it’s thoroughly deserved.”

The EFCC provides contingency fire cover for London Fire Brigade during industrial action. To date, the crew has helped to keep the City safe over 36 deployments and dealt with over 500 emergency incidents. In parallel to this, the team has provided a security solution to all deployment locations to ensure London Fire Brigade appliances were secure at all times.

Brian added:

“The team only receive seven days’ notice when cover is required and has to mobilise over 240 fire crews and officers. Our solution therefore has to be robust, flexible and efficient. To this end, we have successfully trained over 500 key personnel to ensure contingency crews are always ready for the challenges that lie ahead. Again, this recognition is very well deserved and I wish everybody the best of luck on the evening of the finals.”

Securitas is also pleased to be sponsoring the award for Customer Care Initiative of the Year at the ceremony held at the Park Lane Hilton in London on Wednesday 25 November.
