Security Essen puts the focus on Networked Security

Strong interest in the world’s leading fair for civil security and fire prevention technology is already emerging now. Over 1,000 exhibitors will be expected at Security Essen 2016 in order to present their products and services. The current registration level is well above that of the preceding event.

That also applies to the area concerned with digital security. The requirements on security are becoming ever more stringent with Industry 4.0 and increasing networking – as proven by a large number of hacker attacks in the recent past.

Security Essen 2016 will take account of this. Over two thirds of the exhibitors will show solutions relating to digital security technology. 670 national and international companies will introduce the state of the art in this area. Cyber security will play a decisive role in this respect. The companies which have promised to participate include the Group Security Services of Deutsche Telekom, Itenos, secunet Security Networks, Astrum IT and Fink Secure Communication. Moreover, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the Alliance for Security in the Economy (ASW) will each be represented with a booth at Messe Essen.

With several events, Security Essen will provide evidence of its competence in matters concerning IT security: e.g. this year, there will be a separate congress on the subject of networked security for the first time. Experts from the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied and Integrated Security and from the Berlin Institute of Computer Science will draw up scenarios for possible digital attacks and will make a risk assessment.

The programme of the event will be rounded off by practical examples of applications with regard to Industry 4.0 and networked security.

Moreover, the Security Forum will take place in the direct neighbourhood of the exhibiting IT companies. Here, exhibitors will provide information about their solutions for security in a compact form in lectures.
