TEB Joins HDcctv Alliance

To develop HDcctv-compliant cameras and DVRs for video surveillance

TEB to offer a complete range of HDcctv-compliant video surveillance products including PTZ, static, and dome cameras, as well as DVRs and DVR management software

HDcctv Alliance®, the global security industry consortium established to manage and promote technical standards for HDcctv equipment interoperability, announced today that TEB, an innovative French designer, manufacturer and integrator of video surveillance solutions, has joined the Alliance to develop and market a complete range of HDcctv-compliant products.

TEB joined the HDcctv Alliance because we believe in applying HD technology to CCTV applications so our customers can benefit from the high-resolution, quality images HD offers

Working with the Alliance, we can help our customers understand this new technology and establish credibility for HD in the CCTV market. The image is the most important component of our business, and to that end we invest in and support technologies that improve video quality and create more efficient systems for the end-user. Our participation in the HDcctv Alliance allows us do this.

The HDcctv Alliance provides us with interoperability specifications and SMPTE-derived HD standards as they apply to the video surveillance market. We can use those specifications and standards to design and develop a complete range of HDcctv-compliant products for our global customers

TEB plans to deliver HDcctv-compliant PTZ, static, and dome cameras and DVR management software.

TEB has carved out a unique place in the market by developing innovative products in response to their customers’ specific requirements

We look forward to TEB bringing its end-user-oriented perspective to the development of the HDcctv standard, broadening the product options available to end users that want to take advantage of HDcctv camera connection technology.

HDcctv surveillance camera connection technology presents an alternative to analog video, which offers limited resolution, and IP networking, whose adoption is impeded by cost, complexity, and degraded quality of live view images. HDcctv surveillance cameras deliver digital high-definition video over coaxial cable. The HDcctv Alliance standards enable interoperable plug-and-play high definition (HD) security systems with the highest possible signal integrity, without any perceivable latency or image artifacts from transmission-related compression.

“TEB joined the HDcctv Alliance because we believe in applying HD technology to CCTV applications so our customers can benefit from the high-resolution, quality images HD offers,” said Matthieu Thaller, TEB marketing director. “Working with the Alliance, we can help our customers understand this new technology and establish credibility for HD in the CCTV market. The image is the most important component of our business, and to that end we invest in and support technologies that improve video quality and create more efficient systems for the end-user. Our participation in the HDcctv Alliance allows us do this.”

“The HDcctv Alliance provides us with interoperability specifications and SMPTE-derived HD standards as they apply to the video surveillance market. We can use those specifications and standards to design and develop a complete range of HDcctv-compliant products for our global customers,” continued Thaller. “TEB plans to deliver HDcctv-compliant PTZ, static, and dome cameras and DVR management software.”

The HDcctv Alliance has partnered with SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) to leverage the HD-SDI (High Definition Serial Digital Interface) broadcast television standard as the basis for the HDcctv Specification. HDcctv includes a variety of enhancements to HD-SDI that are vital to surveillance, including bi-directional audio and data, up-the-cable power, and Long Reach Mode for 300m transmission over conventional RG-59 cable.

“TEB has carved out a unique place in the market by developing innovative products in response to their customers’ specific requirements,” said Todd Rockoff, HDcctv Alliance executive director. “We look forward to TEB bringing its end-user-oriented perspective to the development of the HDcctv standard, broadening the product options available to end users that want to take advantage of HDcctv camera connection technology.”

The Alliance is rapidly growing, drawing its international membership from diverse sectors of the security industry, from component, OEM and branded equipment manufacturers, to security sales, support and system installers. Alliance members benefit from access to the complete specification, participation in the standard creation process, and certification of compliant products. Marketing benefits include HDcctv logo product branding to signify interoperability and promotions to increase members’ international visibility.
