VIVOTEK launches mini day/night vandal dome camera

VIVOTEK announced today the launch of the latest compact design fixed dome camera, FD8151V. With several unique, market-leading features such as vandal-proof housing, IR illuminators up to 5 meters, low light capability, built-in microphone, and easy mounting and installation, the camera is regarded as an ideal choice for a variety of indoor applications.

The FD8151V, equipped with a 1.3-Megapixel CMOS sensor enabling the camera to capture 1280 x 1024 resolution video at 30 fps, supports the industry-standard H.264 compression, significantly reducing file sizes, preserving network bandwidth and storage, and easing system loading without adversely impacting video quality. In addition, the camera is also compatible with MJPEG compression, allowing video streams to be transmitted in either of these formats for versatile applications. The removable IR-cut filter also adds Day and Night functionality so that image quality can be optimized based on lighting conditions.

Besides providing high-resolution video, the FD8151V offers fixed lenses of various focal lengths, which delivers a wide range of fields of view. The ePTZ function enables users to zoom in and focus on a region of interest (ROI) in the camera view with only a few clicks of a mouse. The camera also includes 32-channel recording software, built-in IEEE 802.3af-compliant PoE functionality, and a MicroSD/SDHC card slot for on-board storage. Because of its rich features, FD8151V can be used in various environments, including but not limited to: offices, elevators, campuses, chain stores, boutique stores, prisons, and health care facilities.

Designed to make mounting as easy as one-two-three and coupled with Power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality, the setup time of the FD8151V is less than 120 seconds, allowing installers to complete installation quickly and easily. The camera is equipped with a vandal-proof housing, resisting violent impact forces and being able to operate in high-risk environments.

Steve Ma, VIVOTEK’s Executive Vice President, stated: “With continuous commitment to meeting market demands, we are pleased to present a fixed dome product with market leading specifications to our clients. With rich features as vandal-proof, Day and Night functionality, and easy mounting, VIVOTEK FD8151V is truly an ideal all-in-one surveillance solution that meets a wide variety of needs for indoor surveillance.”
