Total solution includes 5,000 March Networks IP cameras

March Networks®, a global provider of intelligent IP video solutions, today announced that a large financial customer will deploy an additional 1,000 March Networks IP cameras, embedded video analytics and Video Management System (VMS) software across more than 120 retail branches before the end of 2011. During the past two years, the bank has nearly tripled its March Networks Financial Solution installation to approximately 5,000 IP cameras in 430 branches.

With retail branches located across Europe, the bank selected the March Networks solution for its exceptional scalability and video management. The VMS software enables the financial institution to monitor live video and manage its entire March Networks installation from a central security command center to ensure efficient operation. The bank chose to run the open software on March Networks hybrid recorders based on their proven reliability and performance.

In addition, intelligent video analytics supported on March Networks CamPX and CamPX Dome IP cameras help security staff immediately detect and better respond to unusual activity – such as an unauthorized person entering a secure area, or after-hours activity in a parking lot. High-definition (HD) March Networks MegaPX 720p IP cameras with internal memory provide local storage and enhanced redundancy. HD cameras are becoming more prevalent in banking applications where detailed, high resolution images are required.

“Globally, we are seeing financial institutions begin the transition to IP video networking and high-definition cameras to maintain their exceptional security standards and achieve greater operational efficiency,” said Net Payne, Chief Marketing Officer, March Networks. “As a recognized leader in financial IP video management with more than 400 banking customers worldwide, we are well positioned to provide enterprise-class solutions to this high-growth sector. Our VMS software, IP cameras and vertical market applications provide the capabilities needed to transform surveillance systems into world-class intelligence solutions.”
