Integrated Control Technology (ICT) has released paired integrations between Protege GX, and Milestone’s XProtect platforms. The user can choose on which front-end the events will be monitored and managed
ICT’s Protege GX platform provides a unified access control and intrusion detection platform with features like floor plans and status pages, for end-user’s ease of use. The user can embed the cameras managed by Milestone XProtect VMS system directly into the Protege GX dashboard and maps, enabling them to link video to doors, areas, inputs and outputs events – such as a live video feed popping up when an access denied event is triggered. In this set-up, users would need to purchase GX camera licenses.

This integration allows users to manage Protege GX access and intrusion events directly in XProtect for robust oversight and control. All Protege GX doors and areas can be added into XProtect maps, giving security staff a full overview and understanding of what is happening across their sites. Custom alarms can be set using the Protege GX events – from sending a notification to arm the area when everyone has left a room or floor, to alerting the appropriate person when a manager has left a high security area, but staff are still there unsupervised. The integration also enables visual verification, to check who is requesting access.
Integrating Protege GX events into XProtect enables a unified security system, streamlining operations and providing meaningful events to the security staff for them to act upon.
In this configuration, users would need to purchase a Protege GX Milestone Integration License.
“Security systems can be very complex, and it is important to offer both flexibility and interoperability to end-users” says Thomas Napora, General Manager and Vice President EMEA for ICT. “With this updated integration offering, end-users are given the choice of which platform they want to use as frontend to manage events: their access control platform or VMS platform.
Whichever way the end-user decides, they will benefit from the insights and control provided by linking cameras to doors, inputs, outputs and areas.
The details of what is required for either configuration can be found on the Milestone Marketplace portal.
Showcased recently at the Milestone XPerience days in Dubai, the new integration was very well received by the Milestone partners and ecosystem. The next opportunity will be at the Milestone XPerience Day in Istanbul Turkiye on the 22nd October.
