Infosecurity Europe 2015 now open at Olympia London

Infosecurity Europe, Europe’s largest information security event is opening the doors on its 20th edition at Olympia in London today.

Infosecurity Europe is the a key date in the calendar for information security professionals across Europe, convening 300+ exhibitors and 200+ expert guest speakers to discuss the latest trends and hot topics in cybersecurity.

The first day of Infosecurity Europe is packed with new features, initiatives and keynotes. Highlights include:

· An opening keynote address on ‘Cybersecurity for Tomorrow’ by Ciaran Martin, Director General of Cyber Security, GCHQ
· New Cybersecurity Breaches research from PwC, commissioned by the Department of Business Industry & Skills
· The first day of Infosecurity Europe’s new conference Intelligent Defence
· Further keynote speeches and panel appearances from security experts at the BBC, National Air Traffic Service (NATS), and many more

All Day – Intelligent Defence: European Technical Research Conference
Intelligent Defence is a new technical conference sharing the latest and most advanced cybersecurity research. Over two days, leading security experts drawn from the private and public sectors will present new research papers, including the revelation of new zero-day vulnerabilities associated with growing use of cloud and Internet of Things technology.

All Day – The Cyber Innovation Zone
The Cyber Innovation Zone celebrates British innovation in the field of information security. Presented in association with The Cyber Growth Partnership, The Department for Business Innovation and Skills and techUK, it will showcase eleven of the UK’s most creative and forward-looking information security businesses.

Each year Infosecurity Europe’s country pavilions shine the spotlight on the vibrant information security industries around the world. In 2015, it welcomes new country and region pavilions from the USA, France, Israel, Germany and Northern Ireland.

10:00 – 10:40 (Keynote Stage) ‘Cybersecurity for Tomorrow’
Ciaran Martin, Director General for Cyber Security at GCHQ gives the opening keynote address for Infosecurity Europe 2015.

10:55 – 11:55 (Keynote Stage) ‘Cybersecurity Breaches Survey’
PwC’s Richard Horne, Andrew Miller and Chris Potter review and discuss the findings of the professional services provider’s latest security breaches survey results.

12:30 – 13:30 (Intelligent Defence) ‘Smart Home Invasion’
Tripwire’s security researcher Craig Young presents new infosecurity research revealing zero-day vulnerabilities in the three top-selling smart home products available in the UK.

13:00 (Press lunch) ‘Bluecoat/Infosecurity Europe Exclusive’ – Henley Suite 2, Gallery Level
Top Blue Coat executives will reveal the results of a YouGov survey into the online and social media behaviour of 1,184 UK workers, including how over half (54%) of UK employees connect with strangers on social media, and that less than half (44%) have set up any kind of access control/privacy settings. The survey also shows that exploits targeted at European Governments and Sony are highly likely to recur in the UK. RSVP to [email protected].

David Jones, Head of Information Security at the BBC and Andrew Rose, Head of Information Security at The National Air Traffic Service join a panel focusing on the importance of fostering a company culture where information security is everyone’s responsibility.

14:45 – 15:45 (Intelligent Defence) ‘The Researcher’s Guide to the IoT Galaxy’
Andrew Hay, head of research for OpenDNS presents new research on the potential threats that Internet of Things devices present to organisations.
