Magnus Malmström named CEO of Nexus

The board of the identity and security company, Nexus Group, has appointed Magnus Malmström as its new CEO from 1st of November, 2018. He will move from his current role as VP Product and Delivery to replace Lars Pettersson, who will take the role as chairman of the Nexus Group board.

“Nexus is now at a point where an increased focus on selected market segments requires a CEO with deep technical knowledge of identity and security,” said Michael Olsson, current chairman of the Nexus Group board. “Magnus Malmström has long and solid international industry experience. In his former role he has paved the way for Nexus’s future product portfolio, which makes him an excellent choice.”

“Digitalisation also affects Nexus – we need to work more decentralised to get even closer to our customers with our technology and knowledge,” added Malmström. “I see great opportunities for us as Nexus´ solutions are becoming increasingly relevant every day around the world. I am grateful to have the opportunity to lead Nexus’s competent employees and to support our customers in their progress to secure digitalisation.”

“In the last three years Lars Pettersson has transformed the company into a well-structured and focused organisation with a clear strategy,” noted Olsson. “To secure the continuation of this winning strategy, Lars has been offered the post as acting chairman of the Nexus Group.”

“It is perfectly fitting that after more than three years of intensive change management, I hand over the CEO role to Magnus Malmström,” concludes Pettersson. “Magnus’s drive and long experience from the identity and security industry will further develop Nexus and retain our innovation focus. I am very pleased to be able to continue working with Magnus and his management team in my new role.”
