NetSupport launches next generation IT Asset Management

NetSupport launches next generation IT Asset Management to education and corporate enterprises.

NetSupport is pleased to announce the launch of the new version of its highly anticipated IT Asset Management suite, NetSupport DNA version 4.

NetSupport DNA is a complete IT asset and desktop management solution designed to save organisations time and money − whilst increasing productivity, ensuring reliability and adding security to their IT systems.

Building on its already-comprehensive hardware and software inventories and licence management modules, this latest release introduces dedicated versions for the corporate and education sectors – plus a range of proactive features such as device auto-discovery, endpoint security, proactive alerting, application and internet metering, print monitoring, energy power management, mobile inventory plus much more.

At the heart of DNA v4 is its clear, intuitive user interface that removes the need for product training, while its new ‘Welcome dashboard’ provides technicians with an instant real-time overview of an organisation’s IT assets and all recent activity.

Its new Auto-discovery feature means that NetSupport DNA now works proactively for technicians by identifying and monitoring any new devices joining the network. And, working alongside this, the new SNMP Discovery mode identifies SNMP-enabled network devices (such as switches and printers), allowing them to be monitored and have alerts triggered if issues arise.

In addition, innovative cost-saving features such as energy monitoring, power management (to schedule PC power on and off times) and print monitoring, give organisations greater awareness of where costs are generated, together with the opportunity to make savings.

The latest version of NetSupport DNA also delivers extra flexibility for technicians with its barcode feature, allowing them to print (or digitally display) custom device asset labels which can be scanned by a new DNA Mobile Console app that provides an instant inventory and change history of any PC for a technician while on the move. What’s more, technicians’ and user time is further saved, thanks to the new user management console which provides alerts when network accounts and passwords need to be enabled or reset – and by delivering over 100 proactive system alerts, each designed to ensure technicians are alerted immediately to resolve issues before they escalate and impact staff productivity.

And now with endpoint security provided as standard, IT managers can immediately apply an extra layer of security to their school or corporate network. They can control the use of portable and removable USB devices on all PCs and individual memory sticks can be assigned and restricted to use only by specific individuals or members of a department. In addition, all DNA enterprise data is stored locally; ensuring data is kept secure at all times.

Commenting on this new release, NetSupport’s Managing Director, Al Kingsley, said:

“Managing IT assets efficiently is key to every enterprise and, with NetSupport DNA v4, we have created a comprehensive and intuitive solution that helps organisations proactively monitor and manage their IT assets quickly and easily – with customers able to have the product up and running within 30 minutes. We’ve also delivered the added bonus of features designed to highlight cost savings across the organisation; enabling customers to achieve an even quicker return on their investment.”
