SecureStat Cumulus is Securitas Technology’s camera-to-cloud video security platform, combining cloud video management with generative AI to help security teams find, interpret and act on relevant footage more quickly. Launched in 2026 as part of the SecureStat HQ security management platform, Cumulus connects compatible IP cameras directly to the cloud and removes the need for traditional on-site video recorders or servers.
Its core differentiator is the application of natural-language GenAI to everyday surveillance operations. Rather than requiring operators to manually review large quantities of video or configure conventional rules, users can describe what they want the system to identify in straightforward language.
Turning natural language into security intelligence
Cumulus allows operators to create searches and alerts using conversational questions. An organisation could, for example, ask whether activity has occurred at a loading dock after a specified time. The system interprets both the context of the request and the content within captured imagery to identify relevant results.
This approach is designed to shorten the gap between an incident occurring and useful information reaching the security team. Operators can search recorded video without manually reviewing hours of footage, while natural-language alerts enable organisations to focus monitoring around events or behaviours relevant to an individual site.
The technology sits within SecureStat HQ, providing a centralised interface through which users can view cameras, create alerts and manage security information using desktop or mobile devices. This also places AI video within a broader security-management environment rather than operating as an isolated analytics application.
Cloud architecture built to scale
Cumulus supports compatible new and existing IP cameras, allowing organisations to migrate towards cloud video without necessarily undertaking a complete camera replacement. Because supported cameras connect directly to the internet, there is no requirement for an on-site NVR, recording server or dedicated video appliance.
Video data is encrypted and stored within a managed cloud environment, while automatic camera firmware updates support ongoing cyber hygiene. Organisations can increase coverage by adding compatible cameras, with subscription-based storage and AI intended to create more predictable operating costs.
The platform was also recognised among Security Sales & Integration’s 2025 Year-End Trend-Setting Technologies before its wider 2026 launch.
By combining GenAI search, contextual alert creation, camera-to-cloud architecture and centralised management, SecureStat Cumulus demonstrates how artificial intelligence can be applied directly to practical security operations rather than functioning solely as an additional analytics layer.
