Top TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has hired the South West’s largest independent fire and security firm for a third time to protect his brand new restaurant in Bristol.

Following the successful installation of a CCTV system and intruder alarm at the celebrity’s River Cottage Canteen in Plymouth, Securi-Guard Fire and Security has fitted another system to the latest premises at St John’s Court Hall, a Grade-ll listed 19th century church building in Clifton.

The company has supplied and installed a monitored intruder alarm system and a high tech, digital CCTV system.

Like the system at the restaurant in Plymouth’s Royal William Yard, the CCTV has the facility to be viewed remotely from either an office or home computer, via broadband.

The Bristol restaurant installation is the third contract Securi-Guard has carried out for Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and his River Cottage business.

In February last year, the company installed a fire and security system at the TV chef’s River Cottage headquarters in Axminster in Devon after the historic converted barn where it was housed was destroyed by fire.

It meant Hugh’s team was forced to erect a marquee to carry on hosting events and cookery training at the site and Securi-Guard was called in to help make the site secure, fitting an intruder alarm system with smoke detection to both the marquee area and general offices.

Martin Demuth, a business development manager for the Technical Systems Team at Securi-Guard, said:  “We were delighted to be asked to handle a third installation for this client, following the success of the work we carried out at Plymouth’s Royal William Yard and Axminster.

“Like the Plymouth restaurant fit, we once again worked very closely with the shopfitting team and the electrical contractors to ensure all works dovetailed and were carried out as swiftly and effectively as possible.”

TV chef and broadcaster Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall believes passionately in the sourcing of local produce where possible, and is firmly committed in his support of local suppliers.
