Bikal partners with rentVM to provide cloud storage to USA

Bikal, the leading IP CCTV equipment and video management provider, partners with rentVM for a complete end to end cloud CCTV solution. As ICT professionals constantly look for lower TCO and increasing the capability of their IT spend to take advantage of new technologies the cloud is providing the scalable platform for this. For Bikal it was important to find the right partner who firstly understood the requirements of video image transfer and storage. Then secondly it was important that the partner appreciated the opportunity of cloud CCTV.

rentVM provide infrastructure, IaaS, connectivity as well as dispersed data centers to be able to cater for the small local firm in Brooklyn, NY who does not want to have a PC on all the time for recording. Then rentVM is able to scale all the way to the multiple 5000 retail chain store sites with dedicated connectivity for the IP CCTV system. The cloud CCTV billing system would provide one storage bill per month for all the sites. This storage would then be adjusted based on the amount the company felt it needed to use, thus reducing hard drive expenditure and maintenance. Another advantage is that with IaaS costs can be reduced or managed depending on the IP CCTV video requirement. For instance, by reducing the resolution on cameras it will lower the bandwidth requirement and the storage amount. This is a valuable tool for the ICT professional, especially as they migrate other IT to virtualization.

The cloud CCTV market is set to grow as the capability for remote handling of video now exists as data centres have grown in numbers. Bikal will use cloud CCTV to deploy intelligent video analytics like facial recognition. IVA which is data base reliant will have an advantage using the cloud. VSaaS will be a key feature for the ICT professional in 2013 and Bikal is keeping the cost down by working with a IaaS expert to get the end customer the best value for their IT spend.
