eyevis UK upgrades high security prison control room displays

One of the UK’s most high security prisons is using technology from eyevis UK to upgrade its control room after the company’s previous installation delivered 60,000 hours of faultless operation.

The prison, which cannot be identified for security reasons, first installed eyevis displays in early 2009 and they have been operating 24/7 ever since.

It is now upgrading to the latest technology by installing ten eyevis 47-inch LCD displays and a Netpix 4900 video wall controller.

eyevis UK managing director Steve Murphy said:

“The fact that our displays have been in faultless operation for around 60,000 hours demonstrates the high durability and serviceability which are vital in control rooms, particularly those in a high security prison.

“This track record has ultimately led to the customer upgrading its technology with eyevis UK.”

The eyevis 47-inch LCD screens offer the best image quality, high resolution, narrow bezels and unique operability in 24/7 applications.

They include optimised features to prevent so called “Image Sticking” effects which are likely to occur on other LCD monitors, especially when static content is displayed over prolonged time.

The Netpix range is capable of combining, in an easy and user-friendly way, individual outputs into a coherent large video wall display, which can be used to present a wide range of network data as well as video and graphics sources.

It is unique in the market because it caters for the complete range of inputs required within control room environments and maintains compatibility with the very latest industry standards.

eyevis UK, which has bases in London, Manchester and Lancashire, provides video display solutions and audio visual solutions to a range of clients.

Its equipment is installed across the UK in CCTV control rooms for local authorities, banks, road traffic monitoring, emergency services, blue chip retailers, security services, prisons and other Government buildings.

New eyevis UK demonstration venues allow a wide range of sectors, including CCTV, security and traffic control to witness at first hand the state-of-the-art products which can help them.

The venues, in Euston, London, and Stockport, Manchester, are operated on an appointment basis and clients can provide details of the issues they face in advance so eyevis UK can demonstrate how their technology can help.
