Context appoints Dave Spence as Director of Response

Dave Spence has recently been appointed Director of Response at cyber security consultancy, Context Information Security.

Before joining Context, Dave spent the past 10 years at Deloitte advising clients and Boards about how to best manage their technical and business cyber risks and most recently running the UK Cyber Defence team including incident response, red teaming, threat intelligence, defence advisory and managed services. Prior to Deloitte, Dave worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, assisting clients and audit teams in security systems and architecture, infrastructure, penetration testing and policy projects across an array of industry sectors.

Dave Spence commented, “An opportunity to join one of the leading technical cyber companies and manage its Response team, working with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), regulators and industry to apply the specialist skills and knowledge we have to detect, respond and recover from targeted cyber-attacks was something I could not turn away from.”

In this new role, Spence is responsible for ensuring Context’s Response team continues to deliver on helping clients to prepare for, investigate and recover from major breaches from sophisticated threat actors and develop services to target the emerging threats and challenges the industry faces.

“We’re delighted to have Dave on board with his breadth of experience and expertise to lead our Response team. Our Response work has increased significantly in recent years and with demand continuing to grow we’re delighted to develop and improve the services we offer under his leadership,” said Mark Raeburn, CEO at Context Information Security.
