Global MSC Security’s annual conference is now in their 12th year of industry-recognised educational seminars. This year the event will take place in Bristol, UK.
Global MSC Security’s annual conference takes place on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th November 2017 at The Bristol Hotel in Bristol city centre. This year looks at how the security sector is Integrating Technologies, and is shaping up to be a highly informative event, with high profile speakers and a varied programme to look forward to.
While the programme order is yet to be announced, there is an exciting line-up of speakers already confirmed:
Dafydd Llywelyn, Dyfed-Powys Police and Crime Commissioner, will be talking about the public space surveillance initiative undertaken in the county and the benefits it will bring the force by linking 15 towns, controlled from the police headquarters.
Professor William Webster, University of Stirling, will be discussing his current research on body worn video. Tony Porter, Surveillance Camera Commissioner, will be joining us again on stage to share his ambitions for delivering the newly-launched National Surveillance Camera Strategy for England & Wales providing guidance and a co-ordinated framework.
We will have a fascinating insight into life and the capabilities of a larger UK-based control room from Bernadette Bashford-Payne, Estate Control Centre Manager, Canary Wharf and Jim Burgess, Perform Green discusses the challenges and successes of integrating the 1,700 CCTV cameras across Bristol as part of the smart city initiative.
Detective Inspector Edward Heath, looks at how Avon & Somerset Police tackle cyber-crime, current threats and how they are mitigated and Mick Neville, ex-Metropolitan Police, will review SeeQuestor which combines technology and human ability to find people and faces in CCTV.
All will take the stage independently and the day will conclude with an eminent Q&A panel discussion.
A strong focus of these annual events is for Global MSC Security to raise money for a chosen charity at the Monday night gala dinner. Last year we raised £2,000 for Children’s Hospice South West and we are hoping to beat that this year for Bristol Children’s Hospital’s Grand Appeal.
Derek Maltby, MD of Global MSC Security says “Last year we made the third presentation of the Gordon McLanaghan Security Innovation Award and this year we have received some strong nominations once more. We are delighted to be recognising innovation in the industry and awarding the lucky winner our prestigious trophy and £1,000 cash prize”.
