Fyrfly Systems has launched as a specialist physical security provider serving schools, colleges, local authorities, NHS estates and central government bodies across the United Kingdom.
The company offers end-to-end security solutions across six disciplines, including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, fire systems, wireless networks, and 24/7 monitoring. All delivered in-house to relevant British Standards, including BS EN 62676, BS 8243 and BS 5839. Systems are designed to comply with DfE security guidelines, Keeping Children Safe in Education, and the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, commonly known as Martyn’s Law.
Fyrfly Systems was founded by Simon Legrand, who brings a combined background across public sector institutions and global technology infrastructure that is unusual in the security industry. Prior to founding Fyrfly, Legrand spent fourteen years as a professional and consultant across the public and academic sectors. He subsequently co-founded Sunstone Systems in 2011, growing it over thirteen years into a globally recognised platform for solar-powered surveillance, autonomous power and IoT telecommunications, delivering contracts with Chevron, Rivian Automotive and Telent, earning three granted patents, and recognition as one of the IFSEC Global top 50 most influential figures in security and fire.

The company operates on a no-subcontracting model, with a single team accountable from site survey through installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance. With the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 now in force, Fyrfly Systems is positioned to support organisations navigating their new statutory obligations. The company offers documentation and systems design aligned to both Standard Duty and Enhanced Duty requirements, alongside full compliance support for the transition period.
Based in Kent, Fyrfly Systems serves clients nationally. Initial focus is on education and public sector organisations across London, the South East and East Anglia, with national coverage for larger estate requirements.
