The newly-opened Solaire Manila Resort and Casino in the Philippines is utilising a specially-developed end-to-end solution for cash processing by Giesecke & Devrient (G&D).

The Munich-based technology company used tailored project management to organize optimum process flows in the mega casino’s cash processing center. Interlinked hardware and software allow the casino business’s cash logistics to enjoy the highest levels of security, transparency and efficiency.

“The Solaire is one of the largest and most modern casinos in the world, expecting over 1.5 million visitors every year. This makes absolute precision and high productivity indispensable. We worked closely with the customer to develop and implement a suitable concept for fully integrated banknote processing, based on careful analysis of the location itself,” explains Jim Goodwin, Market Segment Director Casinos at G&D.

G&D offers a tailored portfolio of banknote processing systems to meet the mega casino’s specific requirements, the main ones being optimized process flows and the ability to flexibly process large volumes of banknotes in different currencies. G&D’s comprehensive solution, in combination with its own cash management software, integrates the casino’s in-house restaurants, shops and hotel into the process.

There are three different types of system to cover the various functions that need to be performed. As well as high processing speeds, G&D’s systems offer excellent reliability in counting banknotes, inspecting their authenticity, value and fitness, and sorting them according to denomination, series, orientation and condition.

The modular BPS C4 system can be perfectly configured to suit the particular requirements of the casino’s counting room. The system can be equipped with up to 20 output stackers, allowing a variety of processing types in a single pass. Small deposits are efficiently processed and securely balanced using header cards. The BPS C4 can be set to recognize up to 100 different currencies, and can process up to five different currencies simultaneously. The Solaire also uses the robust, multifunctional Numeron device and the compact BPS C1 desktop machine, two systems that offer the flexibility of tabletop use and so guarantee that banknotes are processed efficiently in the casino.

Alongside its tailored system solution, G&D offers a comprehensive service package that includes swift technical support and regular system updates. It is also possible to arrange for an additional remote service to increase system availability and productivity even further.
