The 2025 International Security Buyer Awards judges named Abdullah Tanoli of Criterion Hospitality as their Unsung Hero of the Year, recognising the invaluable yet often unseen contributions that underpin the strength and reliability of the security profession.
Presented as a Judges’ Award, the category honours dedication that operates quietly but consistently, reflecting Security Buyer’s commitment to spotlighting the individuals whose impact is felt even when it isn’t widely visible.
Tanoli emerged as the judges’ selection from a shortlist that also included Lisa Ventura of the AI and Cyber Security Foundation. In awarding Tanoli the title, the panel sought to highlight the importance of those whose work rarely seeks the spotlight but remains essential to security’s day-to-day success.
All winners were revealed during the live online ceremony held on 19 November 2026, with the Judges’ Awards continuing to stand as a clear endorsement of excellence in practice.
