Redvision showcases the practical, ergonomic, design of its VEGA 2010 rugged camera housing

Redvision has released an image of its new, VEGA 2010, rugged camera, housing, with its cover ghosted away. It clearly shows installers how their preferred camera and lens combinations can fit neatly inside. Stephen Lightfoot, Technical Director at Redvision explains, “The VEGA 2010, rugged, camera housing has room for cameras and lenses up to 290mm long. The Tru-park, silicon wiper, which removes dirt and water from the housing’s camera window, is shown at the front to the housing and concealed neatly behind the front bezel when not in use. “The PoE-driven, CHAT interface board is mounted beside the camera. This distributes power to the camera, wiper, washer and built-in heater, as well as providing the connection and interface for Ethernet and audio communications. The wiper’s gearing mechanism sits behind the camera and the drive mechanism runs alongside the camera to the front. All cabling is managed inside its built-in, wall or pedestal mounting bracket and integrated junction box. The VEGA is made from tough, die-cast aluminium, which is both IP67 weather-proof and IK10 impact-rated. It is finished with a marine-grade plating, followed by a durable powder-coating. Although the standard colour is light grey (RAL 7035), it can be finished is any RAL colour, as required. The VEGA 2010 is one of the most compact, tough and well-designed, fixed rugged, camera housings in the security industry. www.redvisioncctv.com

The Redvision VEGA 2052

The Redvision VEGA 2052 gets tough on bullet cameras

The Redvision VEGA 2052 takes rugged, outdoor cameras to another level. According to the manufacturer, it is made from tough, die-cast aluminium and finished with a marine-grade plating, followed by a durable powder-coating. It is also cable-managed, with all cabling routed through the housing and inside its wall or pedestal mounting brackets. No junction box is required, as connections are made within the housing using ‘easy-connect’, cable terminals. This not only gives the VEGA 2052 an IP67 weather-proof and IK10 impact rating with vandal-resistance, but also makes it quick and simple to install. The VEGA 2052 camera has taken the company’s popular VEGA 2010 rugged camera housing and added a 2MP, camera module with a high-performance, Sony Exmor, Low Light Sensor. It is available in a light grey (RAL 7035), as standard, but can be ordered in any other RAL colour, including black, as shown. “The VEGA 2052 is one of the toughest and most durable, rugged cameras in the security industry,” said Stephen Lightfoot, Technical Director at Redvision. “Compare the VEGA 2052 with any outdoor bullet camera and it is immediately obvious that it is built to last. Most bullet cameras would, in fact, be installed with a separate junction box, not shown in the picture, which can look messy and exposes cabling to malicious attacks. The VEGA 2052 is one of the toughest, fixed cameras in the security industry.” www.redvisioncctv.com

Wiper option added to Redvision VEGA 2010 rugged camera housing range

Redvision, a UK-based manufacturer of high-performance, rugged CCTV cameras has added a PoE-driven wiper option to its VEGA 2010 rugged camera housing range. The Tru-park, silicon wiper removes dirt and water from the housing’s optically-correct, camera window, and is concealed behind the front bezel of the VEGA when not in use. Stephen Lightfoot, Technical Director at Redvision, explained: “Wiper power comes from the PoE-driven, CHAT interface board, which also provides camera, washer and built-in heater power to the VEGA, along with audio communications. “All VEGA 2010 rugged housings allow installers to fit their own camera and lens combinations, up to 290mm long. The VEGA is made from tough, die-cast aluminium, which is both IP67 weather-proof and IK10 impact rated. It has an integrated junction box and all cabling is managed through its wall or pedestal mounting brackets. “The VEGA is finished with a marine-grade plating, followed by a tough powder-coating. Redvision launches the ground-breaking, VEGA™ 2010, rugged housing range

Redvision has launched the Redvision VEGA™ 2010, rugged camera housing for tough, hazardous or corrosive, outdoor surveillance applications. The VEGA™ 2010 will house fixed camera and lens combinations, up to 290mm in length, offering protection from dirt, moisture and dust ingress. It is cable-managed, with a built-in junction box, making it simple to install and vandal-resistant. It is also symmetrical, so it can be pendent or pedestal mounted, to ceilings, walls and soffits. Paul Hucker, director at Redvision, explains, “The VEGA™ 2010 housing is like a fixed camera version of our well-established, VOLANT and X-SERIES rugged, PTZ cameras. It includes identical features, like an optically-correct, toughened glass, camera window; a wiper to remove dirt and moisture; and rugged, die-cast aluminum construction. It will be closely followed by the VEGA 2050 range, where 2MP, 4MP and thermal cameras options will be built in.   The Redvision VEGA™ camera window has an optional Tru-park, silicon wiper to remove dirt and water which, when not in use, is concealed behind the housing’s front bezel. The VEGA™ includes a CHAT™ interface board for power, audio, washer and wiper control, using the universal, Pelco telemetry protocol. If telemetry is not available, wiper and washer activation intervals can be automated using dip-switches on the CHAT™ board. The VEGA™ is finished with a marine-grade plating, followed by a tough powder-coating. It is available in a light grey (RAL 7035), as standard, but can be ordered in any other RAL colour, if required. The housing is both IP67 weather-proof rated and IK10 shock and vandal-resistance rated, making it amongst the toughest, fixed housings in the security industry.
