Ipsotek’s Tag and Track technology features in The Wall Street Journal

Ipsotek’s award winning technology Tag and Track (TNT) has featured in an article for The Wall Street Journal. Tag and Track won the UK finals of the 2011 Global Security Challenge from a record number of entries. Tag and Track (TNT) is a real-time multi-camera tracking technology designed for large video surveillance networks. TNT uses video content analysis (VCA) and pattern recognition technologies to continuously trace the path all people and vehicles take throughout the surveillance network. The main innovation of TNT is that it allows the real-time identification of suspects’ current location which is updated as TNT automatically follows suspects from camera to camera. This is particularly powerful where multiple suspects need to be tracked simultaneously. For forensic investigations, TNT will instantly generate a representation of all suspects journeys including video clips of any instances they appeared within a camera view. This is possible as searches for object tracks are performed on information generated from processed video (metadata) which avoids the time consuming task of revisiting hours of video following a serious incident. The Wall Street Journal (Tech Europe) reports the latest news and expert insights into products, software, internet services, inoovations, entrepreneurs and deals shaping Europe’s technology industry. Ipsotek wins award at INSTINCT TD2 for its Tag and Track technology

Ipsotek Ltd announces its success in receiving the runner up prize for innovative technologies applied to Aviation Security with Tag and Track. Prize winning technology Tag and Track (TNT) is a Video Content Analysis based tracking system operating on existing airport surveillance cameras that continuously tracks all persons or vehicles within the airport camera network, providing a complete picture of the threat level, entry point and current or last location of a suspect or vehicle within that network. Ipsotek developed Tag and Track in conjunction with BAE Systems and Kingston University. The aim of the Home Office-sponsored Innovation Science and Technology in Counter Terrorism – Technology Demonstrator 2 (INSTINCT-TD2) project focused on finding new technologies, systems and ideas to enhance aviation security and passenger experiences, while potentially helping to increase airport revenues. Ipsotek was selected for its winning technology from hundreds of entrants by an independent review panel after the live trials and TD2 Showcase event results were assessed. The Showcase event was held at the Thales Crawley site in December 2010. The UK Home Office INSTINCT Programme aims to identify – and trial – innovative technologies, solutions or ideas, from any sized business or academic institution that could enhance security in the future. The December showcase is one of many which allows selected demonstrators to meet face to face with key decision makers and purchasers from across security industries. Support to develop technologies, solutions or ideas into real products that can be quickly implemented within the aviation security environment is a key deliverable for the INSTINCT-TD2 project, as is the awareness of these ‘products’ and their capabilities by the airport, airline and security authorities and companies worldwide.
