For nearly four decades, Videx has been quietly building one of Europe’s most solid stories in the door entry industry. Founded in 1986 in Italy’s Marche region, the company has developed its entire production cycle domestically, from raw material sourcing to electronic design. Today the Videx Group operates internationally, with the parent company Videx Electronics S.p.A. joined by subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, Portugal and Singapore. In the UK specifically, from the earliest years of its history, Videx built a leadership position that remains a defining pillar of its international identity to this day.
More than technology
What truly sets Videx apart in the crowded intercom market is not just the technology, but a deliberate positioning choice: no distribution through e-commerce platforms or DIY retail chains, in order to protect the work of the professional installer. Instead, the Group invests in a qualified distribution network and technical training programmes, building long-term relationships with the professionals who rely on its systems every day.
The product portfolio spans all the major technology platforms: IPure, the native IP door entry system integrable with any third-party network infrastructure and free of licence fees; traditional wired BUS systems; and the GSM system, a remotely manageable wireless solution. Rounding out the ecosystem are indoor and outdoor stations, installation accessories and cloud services.
A New Chapter at The Security Event
This identity – technical excellence fused with a genuinely professional-first ethos – found a prime stage this year: in late April, Videx Group made its debut at The Security Event, the UK’s leading commercial and enterprise security exhibition, held at the NEC in Birmingham in front of more than 17,000 industry professionals. For a company that has been a familiar name among UK installers for decades, it was a moment of natural recognition, as well as an opportunity to present its latest innovations to a market increasingly looking for open, integrable systems designed for smart building infrastructure.
The centrepiece of the stand was the Era Series, the Group’s new generation of outdoor stations: the ERA23V model integrates a MIFARE/NFC reader and Bluetooth configuration, enabling keyless entry through the Videx Virtual Fob app, with IP65/IK09 certification and capacity for up to 2,000 users. Visitors also got an early look at the upcoming GSM version of the series, coming out this fall, designed for cable-free installations with remote management – a preview that has already sparked strong interest among integrators and installers planning ahead for future projects.
For system integrators, distributors and installers looking for solutions that deliver real-world performance, the UK debut marks the start of a new chapter for Videx Group on the international security stage.
