ONVIF have announced that it will provide its perspective on global standardization as part of the Intersec Future Security Summit 2019, at Intersec 2019, January 20-22, held in the Al Multaqua Ballroom, Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Per Björkdahl, Chairman of the ONVIF Steering Committee, will participate in a panel discussion, “Seamless Integration of Innovative Security Systems with Traditional Infrastructure,” on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 14:30. Attendees will learn how to deploy a holistic solution to meet the needs of both security and operations in an industrial organization through the development of an integrated security strategy. Björkdahl will be joined by moderator Adil Abdel Hadi, Director Operations and Development – Security Training Cadre Centre, Dubai Police Academy; and panelists Simon Whitehouse, Managing Director, SGW Safety and Security; Eng. Arif Al Janahi of the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) and Eng. Mohamed Salih, also of SIRA.

Stuart Rawling, Head of Segment Marketing at Pelco and ONVIF steering committee member, will also discuss the real meaning of various industry buzzwords and, as these meanings evolve, how to best plan for and mitigate risk in light of the evolution of new technology. His presentation, entitled “Organizing the Data Chaos – The Impact of the New World of Connected Devices on the Real World,” will be held at 15:30 Sunday, Jan. 20.

“ONVIF is excited to participate in these sessions that address two diverse but crucial areas facing our industry,” said Björkdahl. “It is our hope that, by providing interoperability through our different profiles, the industry will transition to easier integrations, and in turn be able to focus on new solutions for specific challenges.”

Founded in 2008, ONVIF is a leading and well-recognized industry forum driving interoperability for IP-based physical security products. The organization has a global member base of established camera, video management system and access control companies and more than 10,000 profile conformant products. ONVIF continues to work with its members to expand the number of IP interoperability solutions ONVIF conformant products can provide.
