Kings Security wins Best Team and Best Newcomer

A Yorkshire security company has won two important national awards at the recent British Security Industry Association (BSIA) Annual Luncheon.

Highlighting the outstanding efforts of its security personnel, Kings Security, based in Bradford, received two Security Personnel Awards, with staff member Ian Hewitt receiving Best Newcomer for his role as security officer at Yorkshire Water, and the staff at Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing (KNH) winning the Best Team category. Ben Reddington was also voted runner-up in the Apprentice Installer Awards.

Anthony King, CEO, Kings Security, said:

“We’re delighted that our staff have been recognised for their exceptional work. It is their commitment to the people and communities they serve, coupled with their professional standards that has led to these award wins and I would like to personally congratulate everyone for their efforts.”

As a company, Kings Security invests heavily in its staff and undertakes regular training via its Academy. Through this supportive learning environment, staff are encouraged to develop and grow, often transcending disciplines and moving within the organisation. A case in point, Ian Hewitt began his career as a second-line ATM engineer before retraining to join the security division.

The team at Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing (KNH) who bagged a win for Best Team, were recognised for their unrelenting dedication to the community in Huddersfield where they provide concierge services for three high-rise blocks and a further two council estates. The team of nine support the communities, dealing with daily challenges with a genuine sense of responsibility and care, often going above and beyond the call of duty in their roles.
David Detraux, Housing Manager, KNH added:

“Kings’ operational model exceeds both ours and our tenant’s expectations. It is an ambition of KNH to provide help, care and protect our residents; (the) Kings team go above and beyond the expected level in maintaining these values.”

Ben Reddington who was named runner up in the Apprentice Installer Awards is in the third year of his apprenticeship and was commended by his peers for his positive attitude and hardworking approach, which has seen him become a trusted and much liked employee. He has also become a respected role model for year one apprentices who he now mentors.

The Security Personnel Awards are now in their eighteenth year and acknowledge the commendable and limitless contributions that security personnel make to the industry – and the wider community – each and every day. The Apprentice Installer Awards serve to recognise the achievements of both Level Two and Level Three apprentices involved in the installation of alarms, CCTV and access control.
