Cost isn’t the only factor to consider when sourcing a security supplier, and experts from security industry trade body, the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), will be on hand at this year’s newest security event – London’s Global Security Summit – to offer an insight into what to look for in a potential security provider.
From the organisers of IFSEC International, FIREX International and publishers of RISK UK, Global Security Summit London is the new and exciting event designed to showcase the best that the security and risk management industry has to offer. Taking place on 10th and 11th October at London’s Olympia, the event brings together the key influencers and stakeholders to discuss, debate and network in a business environment.
An integral part of the event is the Advice Centre, where four leading security and fire organisations are joining together to provide you with expert advice on a number of topics. Representatives from the BSIA will be on hand on both days of the exhibition, and security procurement is one of the areas on which the Association will be offering its advice and guidance.
“Often, those responsible for security procurement within their organisation have little to no experience of security, and limited knowledge of the wide range of products and services that are available,” says James Kelly, Chief Executive of the BSIA. “Avoiding common pitfalls at the all-important specification stage can help companies choose an effective, professionally tailored solution, rather than a ‘sticking plaster’ approach which addresses some security issues but is simply not fit for purpose and still leaves their site vulnerable to criminal attack.”
