Case Study: Jacksons Fencing updates perimeter security at outstanding primary school

The Challenge
Blean Primary school is a mainstream state school for pupils aged from 4 to 11 and awarded “Outstanding” in their recent Ofsted Inspection. They are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children, creating a learning environment where children feel challenged and supported in their learning.
With more and more schools utilising outdoor environments to help facilitate learning, the need for safe, secure and aesthetically pleasing perimeter security continues to grow.
With these factors in mind, Blean Primary School developed the requirement to update their existing perimeter security protecting the front of the school following the above fencing principles.
The Solution
Jacksons Fencing were invited to survey the schools grounds with the remit to update the entrance security at the front of the school. Following the site survey and consultation Jacksons Fencing designed, manufactured and installed Bow Top fencing to run along the front of the school which is near a busy main road. The fencing was powder coated to match their corporate colours making a striking appearance as you view the entrance of the school grounds.
Two double leaf bow top gates were installed in the fence line for vehicles to gain access to the car parks, gate stops were installed to safety hold the gates in the open position and preventing them from closing is windy conditions. With space at a premium, the gates were required to open 180 degrees so the gate leaves were not an obstacle for cars driving in and out of the premises.
In order to keep pedestrians safe and away from moving traffic two pedestrian gates where installed for them to gain access onto the site.
